Is there any prohibition on mentioning drug taking - i.e. of the so-called recreational kind - in stories submitted to Literotica? I have looked in the Writer's FAQ and Guidelines, and I can't see any mention of drugs, but I thought I'd check here just in case.

I'm asking because I have a piece pending in which a character has an involvement wth cocaine. It isn't central - it's just a character point really with a couple of short mentions.

Anyway, I'd be grateful if anyone happens to know and can tell me.

Does the cocaine use intensify, lessen, or modify the character's sexual or romantic activity in any way? If not, it should probably be expunged as gratuitous pyschopharmacopeia.

It makes her rather wild - and may predispose her to indulge in unusual sexual acts that she might otherwise eschew.

Given that, I assume it doesn't fit your definition of gratuitous pharmacopeia, and therefore has your blessing? :)

Thanks,

Literotica will post stories involving drugs providing they don't break other posted rules.

Now we're getting somewhere! Let the spirit of Lit fill you and lift you to lofty literary heights! Eschew no depravity to which the seven-and-a-half-percent solution may drive your lusty heroine!

In nomine patri, et filii, et spiritus sancti, Ah! Men!

You lost me momentarily with the seven-and-a-half-percent solution, but a quick google told me about the film - which I haven't seen - and that Sherlock Holmes favoured a solution of seven percent cocaine. So I suppose what was good for Conan Doyle should be good enough for Literotica and me.

Thank you for the blessing, Your Horniness. I'll do my best.

Ok, just watch out for the not-so-magnificent seven, and guard your back against Eteocles. Good luck with the story; let us know when it's up so we can read it.

... but I now find, having googled further, that the novel, The Seven-Per-Cent Solution was published in 1974 by American writer Nicholas Meyer. I'll have to get it. It sounds good.
