Been so long since I have visited these pages...I do hope all are well and sinfully occupied. Just back from a wicked long weekend in Sydney, went to Hellfire and a Christmas in July Dungeon Party. Wild and wonderful....blissfully (and ouchily) so.

Now where is that Elfy:kiss: one? How are you delicious? Hope the renovations are going or even better gone well. Up to the ears in same here, think you could turn up with your um brush in hand? Got some places you can stroke and add a few coats to with it........ Must try to get to Melbourne one day and see if I can tie you down for a coffee or arm wrestle....laughs.

Be well, stay safe and smile as you do it...gives people something to talk about....

  for all

:kiss:MsMoon:kiss:

Howdy Ms Moon

Well actually in regad to the reno jobs the winter has killed that off which is just as well since it has been busy on the work front for me these past few months. Trying to keep the dickhead in charge from screwing up the place too much. It is a constant battle, but one I'm going to remove myself from hopefully next year.

So as to the coffee...would love to if I'm still around this town come next year. We have plenty of coffee shops to choose from. I reckon by now we have enough of them for every person to have one each. I'm waiting for some warmer to get back in to those remaining reno task so I move on.

Yep I'm rather handy with a brush. I always remember to clean the equipment properly after the job is done. I'm handy around the house, in all rooms.

LOL no I somehow don't think she would

though do consider coffee as an option if you can?

im not fussed either way

and marathon! impressive

Careful..he could be an ivory trader...the marathon could be just a ruse to seperate you from the herd...stay with the zebras..

Evening all,

Hello to all the new people to the thread.

We have a new ticketing system in Melbourne, aimed purely at the locals. So if you are a tourist...walk. No seriously. This is how it works. You buy a plastic card which costs about $10..then you put money on it and each time you use the transport it debits the card. So you have already paid $10 then added at least another $10 so you can travel. Now here is the test. When getting on a tram, which we are known for , you have to touch the plastic card on a pad and watch the lights on the pad. One green and one yellow = good. One green and one red means you don't have enough money. One red means you are out of luck. You won't be able to buy a ticket on the tram anymore because the plastic cards are uselss unless you put money on them first. You have to find a machine somewhere else. Once you find this elusive machine to charge this fantastic plastic card, you have to hold it against a screen with one hand and get your credit card out of your wallet then press the right buttons. And for fuck sake don't let go of the plastic card..the one for the transport system not your other plastic card used to fill up the one you are holding against the screen.

Yes you can recharge your plastic travel card on the web...however just because you put money on it the night before you need to travel that doesn't mean you can actually use it the next morning. You need 24hrs for the transaction to work. So the current solution is to buy another ticket from the old system. Afterall it is your fault for not working out 48hrs earlier that you needed to travel.

OK so now you have your plastic travel card that you have paid twice for...this does not necessarily mean you can catch a train on time to where you want to go. In fact just because you caught a train to your destination doesn't necessarily mean you can get one back. And don't forget to check out the combination of lights on the touch pads otherwise you might not be able to get out of the station.

Now if all that doesn't attract more tourists to Melbourne I don't know what will. Afterall why not introduce a system that confuses the fuck out of not only the locals but also tourists. However so long as we are Moving Forward..that is the main thing...

That's how public transport tickets are worked out in Brisbane. You can still buy paper (until the end of this year) but to bribe you to use the Go Card, paper tickets are more expensive for the same trip.

It doesn't really bug me all that much, EXCEPT the fact that we used to have weekly and monthly capped tickets - they don't cap the plastic card solution, apart from cutting the cost per trip after the first ten trips of the week. How hard is it to programme a weekly cap on it, GRRR

Next the government will be cutting public transport because it's not being used enough & costs are through the roof.

Mental note: Not going to Melbourne, Not going to Brisbane!

Elf what do tourists do with thier $10 ticket that they have to buy? is there a resale on them? or is it suck it up, keep it as a reminder of the brain dead pollies allowed to run State & Nation.:rolleyes:

in geneva tourists travel on the buses and trams free - as long as you get a docket from your hotel.

You must be from Altona...lots of things glow in the dark in Altona...
Nope-Cranbourne!

Ah yes the Prom and Squeaky Beach now that does bring back memories and that bird feeding place, the name of which escapes me for the moment...
Oddly enough I've never been down the Prom. Maybe next year for a run!
Gem I'd love to have a coffee but as it's a flying visit I think I'll have to pass this time. I'm in Sydney for City to Surf next weekend and it's the same story there. I'll PM you though and see if we can work something out.

Gil - (not that I live in melb) but tourists dont have to buy the plastic cards. You can still get the old met tickets multitrip style things and single trip ones
but as per bris. i'm sure they will phase them out at some stage

I'm just stirring the Mexicans & Banana Benders up, love both cities.

I might be seeing the butcher(my GPs called the specialist he refered me to) today as they had a cancelation, BANDIT:heart: will ring them in the morning.

Yes seeing more of A.Beauty would be wonderful but alas she is a shy lady who prefers to let us have a few glimpses of her beauty.
nothing wrong with an erotic tease though!
bummer about the knee......
