Was it the snowball, the humiliation, or the blood? Hm... Trying something a little different doesn't go down well. My lowest score ever and not even posted in Loving Wives. Does this mean I've 'arrived'?

My lowest score is actually an outline for a novel. I didn't realize it until after i had posted it.

My worst rated story was the most fun to write. I would never change a word of it, even though I know it will never be popular. Oil Can started as me talking to myself while driving to work. And then a few years later, I wrote a story out of it.

Has my lowest ever score, currently 3.00 and sinking fast. Technically I think it's OK, though it goes where many don't want to look.

I don't write for scores, I write because I have to. And sometimes I write for my partner. Most Lit readers and for that matter writers are looking to have a wank. I try to write for more than that, though I'm very happy if my writing helps folks to wank. I try to write erotic literature, not wank stories.

Some of my tales have respectable scores, but none of my BDSM ones do.

You need to be really, really good to get scores for BDSM on Lit.

In my limited experience. But really, does it matter?

Keep writing. What you know helps it to be realistic.

As the instigator of the Authors' Hangout Last Place (tm) Contests I have my share of low scores.

Two of mine nearly share the honours of lowest rating:

White Scut rated at 3.07 with 45 votes and 37,000 views, and

Hen Party rated at 3.06 with 32 votes and 64,299 views.

Hen Party really needs to complete revision but White Scut will stay as it is - an experimental story that doesn't appeal.

I had expected Donna, my dark story, to be lowest but it is only about 8th worst on 3.61.

However my alt, jeanne_d_artois, has done much better. Her story:

Merlin & Nimue is rated at 2.56 with 16 votes and 10,211 views.

I hadn't looked at the ratings of Jeanne's older stories for some months. The recent few votes must have been reasonable because the last time I was aware of the rating of Merlin & Nimue it was in the region of 1.78.

Hey, you guys don't know where 'nowhere' is. I believe I own you on that one. Closest city to mine is 2,710 kilometres away. That's 1,700 miles people! I can drive 5 days to the North East without seeing a shop, petrol station, or a single soul. Tonnes of kangaroos but.

My lowest rated story to date is 'Threadbare' with a score of 3.48, 54 votes, 16,950 views and 10 positive PC's...go figure. I guess satire and nudity (it was for the Nude Day contest in '09) don't mix.
