OK, I'm really stuck. I need a logo and I have got so far with it but i just can't finish it, don't have the skills.

If anyone is interested in helping me out, I'll link any website you want on my website when it's up and running and credit you. I'll also pay you, preferably in kind because I'm skint, But I'm willing to make five fingerprint curls in pure silver as payment. Pics of them here....

the logo is a medusa's head based on the bernini medusa. I've done some photoshop jiggery pokery and created this:

which I then converted by pencil to this:

Now I need someone with flair and ability to turn my something crude into something beautiful and professional looking.

PM me if you fancy it.

Just B&W line drawing like this? Do you want it to look like you?

well it needs a neck, and it also needs to quite graphic with strong lines, almost like a pinup style tattoo. I'll be using it for the front page of the website, for compliment slips and also for business cards, so it needs to still be a bit punchy to look ok small.

and yes, it needs to look like me ;)

Here's a quick study - this look anything like you?

not really... though in fairness it's not a great image of me to begin with. anyway after pondering your post I realised this morning that I suppose the kind of 'look' I'm after is a Mucha-esque style. I did some searching for more images to get an idea of the kind of strongly graphic style I'm after.

I apologise if I stretch the screen a bit.

I love the way the hair is rendered in this one and the kind of 'flat' rendering of the image.

Again strongly graphic, I like the way outline is used.

this is a pierre et Gilles image. I actually really like this, although it's not a drawing the pose and snakes are cool.

cool graphic snakes, hideous face. my medusa needs to be smiling and seductive.

again, great snakes and composition, but too 'drawn' The snakes are really great though. Hadn't considered having the face framed by them like this.

very sketchy but really graphic and fab snakes. it needs more definition though.

more cool snakes but maybe too big and long for my needs. I'll be reducing the logo down very small to create a stamp for my jewellery.

more Mucha. not so much the image but the style...

this is the one my snakes are modelled on. I do adore it. it's so stunning beautiful in its execution but I'm not 'wedded' to the snakes.

this is the photograph of me it was based on. We took a whole load of pics the other night, but mr trb thinks this old one is the best one.

I'm possibly being too demanding.

Oh yeah, I think I can work with that - you want with or without the collar?

I wish wish wish, I still had corelDRAW on my computer, I would draw for free for you. I miss drawing. I would make your logo!

the collar just needs to be a band. when I get my hallmark finalised then I'm going to have it on the collar.

ahhh see... I can draw a bit, but only what's in front of me and my skills are rusty and not great anyway (which is why I dropped out of art school!)

I still paint, once in a while. You have just motivated me to get over to my Dads and draw with his corel! I miss it, kinda rusty too.

Just a quick twiddle with the two images.

The snakes from the Medusa snip lost too much definition in the transition and 'collageing'. Sadly I could not find a pic that will survive the process.
I was trying for a monochrome approach that might be doable onto silver.
It didn't quite go how I wanted it to.

oh! you have given me a neck! :D

I did a magnetic lasoo and then stuck a few extra heads on. I've never used photoshop before and it's fair to say I fucking hate it! Kudos to all who have the patience for it.

I'm just sorting the snakes out because they needed flipping.

and thanks to everyone who is PMing with help.

Wow, I really like this one, I doubt I could do anything better than that. But, what does "too drawn" mean? Too 3D? Too much shading? Not cartoony enough? My style is actually kind of similar to the style examples you gave, so I could give it a try if I can understand what you want. Did you say whether you want it colored? The examples you showed are color, and it's easier to reproduce a style by using the same medium than to capture a color look with black and white.

This is my big-ass page of face samples, if you see one that's the style you want just tell me the number.

yeah, I mean too 3d I suppose, but mostly with too many pencil lines. I don't mind B&W or coloured but if it's coloured I think I want the colour more like a subtle watercolour wash if you get my meaning.

I like that cool sideways shot of you, although a straight-ahead facial medusa shot might work better. Can we put a little bit of titty flesh into it?

no! no titty shots! and no facials either!

it needs to be a bit to the side because scaled down I think it's good to see nose?

Yes, I agree, the nose is a good focal point to delineate. You have a good one, too.

Pity 'bout the titty. ;)
