On television, the media is focusing on the hicks on border patrol.

I'm sure not all of these people are hicks. But I'm also sure there's quite a few of them in the fray. I don't like hicks representing this country at our borders, in Iraq, or in the Oval Office.

Obvious prejudice on my part. But, anyone who proclaims themselves as a "hick and proud of it" is no better than me proclaiming to be a "hick hater and proud of it". I acknowledge my shortcomings in this area. Time for them to acknowledge theirs.

I don't think all NASCAR fans are rednecks or hicks.

But, seeing as though I don't see the Klan frequenting other sports / hobbies what have you nearly as much as I see them frequenting NASCAR (and, more importantly, being welcome there) makes me steer away from it. It's a calculated risk to not get involved but, since there's a lot of other things I like watching, it's worth taking.

Nothing wrong with guns. It's the rednecks and pencil dicks who are the most vocal about possessing them that I worry about.

Of course, the most dangerous weapons at those people's disposal are votes.
