Any Other Sites Similar to Literotica?

I have been writing fan fiction off and on for the past fifteen years. About seven years ago I thought I would jump into the world of erotica and write some original erotic stories. I have been a reader of alt.sex.stories.moderated when that was very popular in the 90s, but I thought I would try my hand at something a little modern and web based. A friend suggested this site to me, so I wrote my first story, created a pen name and send it off to the moderaters.

Alas, they rejected my story stating that they don't accept erotic stories with children. I was shocked! I did know that they have a policy that they don't take stories with children or animals engaging in sexual acts, but I thought what I sent was pretty tame. In fact, there wasn't any sexual acts in the story at all.

I then went off to Alt Sex Stories Text Repository and created an author profile there. You get a lot of freedom to post what you want. In fact, if you're not familar with html code, you get a little too much freedom. There also isn't really a community there where people communcate to each other with the exception of email. I like being able to communicate with my readers.

I gave up before I even began and went back to my fan fiction. Now I want to again try my hand at erotica. I was just wondering if there was a place I can post stories without any censorship that is similar to this site.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

I'm sure there are other sites. But it would be bad form (and is, I think, even against the forum rules) to be discussing them on this Web site. That would be using this Web site to promote a competing Web site.

I believe stating it as bad form is a matter of opinion and not one that I hold.

The only thing that comes close in the form rules is rule #7. Which states that one should not blatantly "advertise" for other websites in one's signature. The exception is personal websites. I haven't done anything of the sort with my signature.

This is in rule 6, for what it matters, and your OP already violates that:

Literotica is not a place to promote other websites, and we are very strict on this issue. If you abuse this policy, you will be banned. If you persist, your ISP will be contacted.

You are inviting any who answer your question on the forum to be in violation to the point of being banned.

But, yes, that's just my interpretation--which is my right to express. I support this Web site on this forum, not others.

And I agree.

Lit has two set in stone rules. No bestiality and no one under 18 years of age.

This is not censorship, this is common sense by the site owners who are based in the US. Everyone here is aware of this rule and if you submit anything along those lines then you will get rejected.

And yeah, promoting another site with the link in your OP is against the rules.

That is for people that come here specifically to promote other sites, not for members that want to share other sites in the middle of a conversation. There is a difference there that most don't seem to understand (especially the spammers).

Welcome to the AH, DK.

All you have to do is google to see where you can post your stories online, but I don't know of any where you can get the kind of feedback you get here.

I don't think he's violating any rule by posting a link to a free story repository that's only supported by donations. A newsgroup vs. a business.

Anyway, I don't know that there is another site with what you're looking for, most are actually stricter. ASSTR is your only choice if you want to post stories most, even here at a lenient sex story site, would find disturbing.

I used to hang out in one called Pixies that was smaller and more intimate, that I liked a lot, mostly Aussies, but I think that site is no more, ditto a lot of the other smaller ones I used to go to.

Just google "free sex stories" - there are a lot of sites that publish sex stories online, but none I've found recently that have the same sort of eclectic social dynamic - for better or worse, Lit is the largest one.

Huh, it's still there, it's just hard to find.

Actually, I believe Stories Online has less strict rules about what they'll accept. Since I don't want to violate any forum rules, I'll let the OP Google for the correct address. They also don't have public viewed feedback, but the approval/post time of stories is much faster. Many authors who write here (Lit) also write there. Myself included

Yes, there is such a site. I haven't heard that it's related to the other site.

I never really bothered with anywhere except Lit... seemed to me this was the biggest bang for your proverbial buck... for readers or writers... ;)

Other than the sites that pay for stories. I've posted at a few of those. This is where the biggest readership is, though.

There is another site, Eroticstories but it has the same underage and bestiality rules as Lit and it doesn't take Incest either.

Ah, yes. I have stories there too--but not nearly as much evidence of a readership as here.

I have a few there as do others from here. The reads seem to vary widely from one time of the years to another and from one category to another.

Selena's nailed it. When you can post a story and get anywhere from 100 to 200,000 views, that's not chicken feed. I seriously doubt if any other site of this nature can match that level of exposure for a fledgling writer. :D

You know you don't have to pick just one site. You can post the same story to multiple sites. I have.

Yeah, it just seemed like too much work to me... but I know lots of folks do.

Most of them are actually easier to navigate due to starting later and not having to adapt legacy code for the conveniences we take for granted nowadays.

I certainly don't envy Manu in the changes he's making to update things around here. I've had to build something new on top of an outdated code base before.

"So, how's it going? What's he saying?"

"The F word. A lot."

I would dearly love to see a streamlined edit function for already posted stories. The current process is too open to human error on both ends, and extremely confusing without really studying it.

Depends what you mean by "erotic stories with children". You can post erotic stories where minors are part of the plot, but you can't sexualise those minors.
