Okay, despite my phobia, or perhaps because of it, Jounar has developed a taste for needle play.

What I'm having trouble with is gaining suplies. I know Cat mentioned somewhere that she buys needles from a medical suply online, but I'm trying to find something that I would be able to travel with, and a box of needles would not make for a comfortable customs experience.

I'm thinking he'd enjoy piercing needles as well.

So, where can I find things to turn my tits into pin cushions?

Feel free to put in any safety tips as well.

Can you post them to him a week ahead of time so they're there when you arrive? Then you wouldn't have to travel with them.

Or can you simply buy them from the website to be delivered in his address?

I have thought about both of these, and will probably end up doing that once a date is confirmed, but for the time being it's currently self inflicted. Talk about a practice of restraint and self control!

But in all honesty, I'm not even sure what to go searching for.

I have tried to do that on a couple of occasions while I have been in a LDR. Once I managed to stick one needle into my boob before I was panicking too hard, but for the most part I was just a blobbering mess and it didn't work out at all. Eventually he stopped asking it of me, because I always ended up feeling really bad for not being able to deliver what he wanted.

We haven't talked about needles for a long time. I wonder if he's going to use them on me some time. So far our only forays into the world of needle play have been my attempts and the one at least partial success.

I can't get my head around the strength it must take to do so wenchie.

You impress me. And scare me a bit! :D

I have been working on my phobia for the past 10 years. I tend to get sick a lot, and need blood work every time I see the doctor. (very strange for a person with no underlying health issues) I started meditating when ever I had to have the blood work done. That's calmed me a lot.

I haven't been able to complete a task yet. But he's very good at reading me. He can tell when I'm starting to get a bit off, has me do one or two more, then he has me stop and tells me how proud he is. Praises me and rewards me.

I get very depressed when I think I haven't lived up to his desires, so he's very good at exagerating my accomplishments.

I second the site above. I got mine from them and they deliver internationally.

As for the play piercing itself ... I would NEVER be able to do it on my own. Hell! I can barely put clips on myself let alone take them off ...

As for the needles' fear .... I'm in the same boat. And yet I managed to go through two play piercing experiences.

I'm still scared shit though and next time I'll still cry and whimper (but he likes that).

Practical suggestion, I don't have many. Just that the thinner ones (bigger gauge) hurt less. Or so they say. Usually I'm so scared I cannot tell.

:rose:

And I just hate disapointing, or denying him anything. Even if it scares me stupid.

Same, but I still couldn't do it to myself, no matter what he asked. You're amazing wench.

I could probably have it done, but by god, I'd need him there, holding my hand, petting me, telling me I was doing good.

When I had my belly button, and my nipples pierced, I had to have some one holding my hand, petting me, both times. But those were for me. *shrug* I can't explain it, his desires just have a stronger hold over me. Though I think it might be my stubornness as well.

Thanks for the site tip. I'll check them out.

I get my supplies from kinky medical dot net, and have alway had a fast delivery from them. They have a tremendous selection of needles. I prefer the B-D precision glide needles- actually haven't tried anything else - they slide smoothly through and under the skin.

Standard disclaimer- this is not medical advise. This is what we do and works for us. YMMV.

Safety wise - you can ever be too clean or change gloves too often.

I think the important thing is to get make a routine.

- Start with cleaning the work area, table tops, trays, and equipment. Use the disposable wipes that are available to wipe down surfaces.

- Personal hygiene, especially the pin cushion wash/shower preferably with antibacterial soap. The piercer should washing hands like a surgeon would. They don't recommend bathing as prolonged water exposure takes the natural oils out of the skin and makes the skin less pliable.

-I think getting the tray ready is probably the most technical step. The needles need to be removed from their sterile wrapper and placed on the tray in a sterile manner (use new gloves for this and make sure the tray is sterilized too). We don't remove the needle sheaths until that needle is going to be put in. And then only the hubs are handled, not the needle itself. I've seen and read where the sheaths are removed at this time and it doesn't make sense to me, because then the needle exposed to the air and whatever it is going to rest/sit until it is to be used.

-Prep the pincushion with rubbing alcohol. We've always put in in a spray bottle to apply the alcohol instead of using alcohol wipes, since you can apply judicious amounts of the rubbing alcohol with a spray bottle to the areas to be pierced and won't be potentially rubbing around contaminated areas with wipers. . . My understanding how alcohol works is it desiccates the germs, and the slower the process of drying them out (that being the slower the alcohol dries) the better job it does of killing germs. With that in mind using a lower percentage alcohol content 70% vs 90% is better for sterilization generally speaking.

-Obviously, you've probably already discussed what is going to be pierced, in what fashion, and how many needles to be used.

-Change gloves

-Pierce

- One of the weird things that I came across was on the after care. I don't think the Deborha Addinton book does a good job explaining what to use. Hydrogen peroxide isn't the best thing as it damages the cells. We've started using Bacticine (white bottle, green spray top- available at pharmacies) . It has an antiseptic in it as well as a small about of a pain killer. We have started spraying on BEFORE removing the needles. Think about it. You take all the precautions of sterilization before being poked. Then you get poked and there may be a certain amount of play during the session that involves touching the around the pierced area, and sometime playing or inadvertent touching or the needles. Then you need to remove the needles at sometime, but they may have been contaminated during the play. So this is why we spray the pierced area before removal of the needles - to apply a small amount of antiseptic to the area so as the needle end is 'clean' as it passes back through the piercing track. Then we spray the area again after with the Bacticine.

Hopefully you'll read the Addinton book on piercing does, don'ts and the depth of the pass. We also picked up the play piercing bible which is a book on traditional piercing as it has better detail on anatomy and how different piercings work. We find it re-assuring to know that the piercings in that book have been permanently done without ill affect, so that a similar play piercing, if done with proper care, shouldn't be a problem.

Like I said this is what works for us- your milage may vary. Yet we haven't had any major problems. I think the key for getting pierced especially for a new couple is to be prepared for mis-pokes. I've been mispoke several times ( as in the piercer not feeling it is going in correctly, too deep...) and pulling the needle out before passing through completely. Then moving along.

Let me know if you have ? or need clarification on my ramblings here.

I'd like to hear what others do too. . .

I am horrified and fascinated by needle play. I love the idea of needle cossetting. I've watched it being done in a club.

However, it's one thing to be able to let someone do this to you and quite another IMO to do it to yourself when it's NOT YOUR thing!

I salute you and your subbiness. (sp??)

In the boob needles is so not my thing. I really don't want needles there. Nope.

:rose:

I so have plans to go down this path and know just the right people to help me learn. The look on Nixie's face when I bring it up is great as she is excited by the idea. We just need to find out if she will really enjoy the experience.

I get my syringes from the pharmacy. It depends where though. Walgreens always gave me a dirty look and lots of trouble, and would only let me buy ten at a time. But healthpartners pharmacy was very nice, and ordered a box of 100 for me without question. It cost less than $5 even. I bet you could get a lot more for the same price by buying the needles only.

I've only used needles for my meds, but I do have a few insights on their use. First, a little anatomy. The skin has pain receptors near the surface, but not below. This means once the skin is broken, you can plunge the needle deeper without any additional pain. In my experience, the pain from the initial stab goes away very quickly unless you hit a particularly bad spot (getting blood drawn is much worse).

Also, the nerves tend to be fairly sparse in areas like the back or rear. I found a little trick to exploit this. Touch the tip of the needle gently to the skin. If you can feel it, pull back and try a different spot. Eventually you will find a spot where you can just barely feel the needle. Plunge through in this spot, and you will have the least pain, often none at all.

I got mine at healthwarehouse.com. They're $9/box of 100 with free shipping, which is a fair amount cheaper than kinkymedical and the like, IIRC. I've found the 1.5" 22 gauge to be pretty versatile and easy to work with.

Thanks everyone for your replies. :)

Temp-It's not the pain I fear. I've done things (often to myself) that are a lot more painful than needle stabs. My phobia stems from a shot I got as a child. The nurse held the syringe like a javelin and came down on my little 5 year old bum as hard as she could. Before that experience I was fine, since then every needle poke is an episode.

I don't need syringes, just the needles themselves, and all of the local pharmacies know my ex husband, (pharm tech) so I'd rather stay away from that.

SweetErica- it's good to see you around here. :) I'll give the website a look.

Do medical needles look different than piercing, or play piercing needles?

You use the medical needles for play piercing. You can buy just the needle without the syringe for this purpose. They are packaged in boxes of 100, but it seems some ppl buy in smaller qtys/

Hmmm... that might cause an issue. The sight of a needle starts the panick attacks. Using the sewing pins hasn't been much of an issue in that respect, but they just aren't sharp enough.

I practiced with sewing pins. Not the actual puncturing, but just running it lightly on my skin so that I would get the feel of the needle, but not draw any blood or puncture the skin. That helped me a lot, because I, too, were (still am) very afraid of needles. Just make sure you disinfect the needle and skin before using it, in case you accidentally scratch yourself with it and draw blood.

I have one set that I keep specifically for when he decides to use me as a pin cushion. They are kept seperate from my sewing gear. I sanatize them before and after use, and I keep alcohol wipes on hand to clean the area he wishes to be used, usually my tits.

I do puncture with them, but they leave little tiny scabs, which are just not attractive. Though I'm getting better at making sure they all line up at least.

I found the one needle I actually stuck into my boob a lot scarier looking, but easier to puncture with. The pins weren't sharp enough so when I tried to puncture I would have had to press really hard and I just didn't have the guts.

Needles hurt a fuckton less than pins, not sure why.

I've tried both, and I definitely have less trouble getting a needle pierce on myself than a pin - anything. Make sure you're sitting down, you never know when the endorphin flood might tip you over.

I figured the needles would hurt less. i think it's because they're sharper, so they go in easier. But because it's not the pain I fear but the actual needle, using pins has been easier to break me into it, even if they are a hell of a lot harder to actually jab in there.
