is incest taboo?

Incest is illegal in most places, and why on earth do people assume incest = BDSM?

You can post stories here about fucking your own daughter as long as she is of age, but if you write about someone unrelated who is role playing as your daughter it will get rejected.

incest is sex with a prohibited relative, but who are the prohibited relatives, and even who are relatives is culturally defined.

For completely patrilineal peoples like the Chin of the Burmese Hills, a man would inherit his own biological mother as a wife. It would be considered greedy if he had sex with her, but not incest; he should give her to a brother of his father.

The Trobrianders are matrilineal, and a man is not a relative of his daughter. Again, greedy, but not incest.

And in societies where the first born inherit, but all is owned by men, a family would loose its wealth and titles to another if they;re first child was a girl. So in ancient Egypt, Polynesia, and a few other places, a first-born girl would marry her younger brother, sex included, to preserve the family's wealth and status. An older brother with a younger sister would be incest. A similar rule still holds in the Mideast today, where a girl will be married to her father's brother's son to keep wealth in the patrilineage.

Don't forget the Western world, either. Until a couple of decades ago, having sex with your spouse's sibling was legally counted as incest in Ontario.

So, there does seem to be a universal incest taboo. Sort of. As long as you agree it doesn't necessarily mean what you think it does.

The incest taboo is culturally determined; don't confuse it with the biological act of inbreeding.

Oh, and by the way...nobility has to mate with nobility; how many different ways can you trace cousinship between Queen Elizabeth and her consort, Philip?

The stories I've read, and yes I have read some father / daugther incest, usually don't include actual sex which is frustrating. Most often the "daugther" is really a step daugther and the father is really a step father kind of pushing away from the incest thing a bit.

So in conclusion, they didn't work for me.

*sigh*

I once knew a girl who at 19 had been involved in a sexual relationship with both her father and brother. I had assumed at first that it was abusive but she assured me that it it was exactly what she wanted.

There are plenty of biological father/daughter incest stories around, (even in the story section of this web site), that include descriptions of actual sexual contact, just as there are stories of biological mother/son incest. Incest isn't just limited to father/daughter.

I've not found any that went as far sexually as I would have liked to read.

I'm well aware that there are many variations of incest. One variation happens to tweak my interest if done well.

What about Genetic Sexual Attraction? This usually involves family members who have been estranged for a long time, such as father/daughter John and Jenny Deaves, who had not seen each other for 30 years. In some cases of GSA, the couple only finds out after the fact that they are related.

I remember the uproar that one caused.

I feel sorry for this couple who popped up on the news recently. They discovered they were half brother and sister after they'd gotten together and had a child. I can only imagine how devastating it would be to discover something like that. It's one thing to meet a relative after 30 years, to know they are a relative and to fall in love. It's another, awful, thing to fall in love and then find out.

Yes, that's one of the ones I was thinking of but couldn't find. Where they had no idea. I don't consider what they are doing to be incest. Incest is between family members, and family does not have to mean blood. It means who you were raised with. Step-siblings may not share blood, but a relationship between them is incestuous. However...now that they do know, I think it is irresponsible of them to have more kids. They're lucky the one they already had is healthy. They should look to adopt in the future - there are plenty of kids out there who need homes.

Agreed. It's selfish, and utterly not fair on the child to deliberately run those kinds of risks.

Exactly. Don't stop expressing your love through sex - fuck all you want - but for god's sake get somebody's tubes tied/snipped/etc.
