Love, Part II: Introductions has been approved

You were informed earlier today that this is the wrong forum in which to post threads about your writing; you responded to that post acknowledging the forum rules.

Please place your threads in the appropriate forum.

Didn't you read the forum rules when you signen on to Lit, before you agreed on them? They clearly state:

11. Please post content in the appropriate forum. We do not believe in censorship, but your posts will be moved or removed if you do not read the forum title before hitting "SUBMIT". Personal ads should be posted in the "Personals" forum, story ideas in the "Story Ideas" forum, BDSM issues in the BDSM forum, random nonsense on the General Board, and so on.

So next time you want to start a thread, make sure it's in the right forum!

Oh and I predict that this thread will be moved, since it have been reported to the moderators for being in the wrong location

Several months ago, and since then I've been somewhat distracted.

Since I lack the ability to move or delete a thread, I've been waiting for the mods to take care of that.

970 visits, 10 votes, 3.40 rating, 2 comments (and one response from me).

Since Part I is still here, perhaps this isn't the wrong forum after all.

Besides, considering the vast difference in the way people are rating the material, perhaps there is a direct connection between what one says here and how one is rated there.

Wouldn't be the first time bad ratings had more to do with politics than content.

Or, perhaps the [volunteer] forum moderators have lives outside of Literotica, and haven't gotten around to moving the thread. Regardless, it's rude to expect special treatment, ignore the forum guidelines (especially after having them pointed out to you), and create more work for the moderators than necessary.

There are some truly busy spammers right now-- 300 posts one of them, all leading to adult forums in Turkish or Korean or Punjabi languages. The mods hadn't done anything about them either last time I looked. But they will.

i dunno, maybe they are all at the beach or a picnic or someplace like that...

This is getting freakin ridiculous now.

Bloved if you cant abide to the forum guidlines perhaps you should leave the forum. Everyone else manages it without too much problem, so it shouldnt be too difficult for you; especially as people have pointed out the relevent guidlines.

Unless of course you are so arrogant that you dont think the forum rules apply to you?

A little too late for that.

I'll be submitting delete requests for all of my material, given the degree of vote-rigging by the casual community and the effect a low rating has on material being read.

I can always re-submit when they're not looking.

I'll cite this thread as my reason for deleting the material, not that it will make a difference.

Obviously the rating system exists for this purpose: vote-rigging by the mob.

I always liked that one.

I also like:
"People who live in glass houses shouldn't cavort nude on top of the piano doing gorilla impersonations."

Albert Einstein didn't say that one though.

I think it's applicable to all concerned. :D

They don't make Canadians like this guy, he must've been raised as an American.

Your first reported scores were 2.7 and 3.2, your last reported score was 3.1. That means the voting was consistent in the "mediocre/keep on truckin'" range. Most of your votes were likely 3's, not 1's or 5's. Twenty votes on a story in the New Stories Index on a Sunday in BDSM is fairly horrible, it's one of the most popular categories. If 5-10 votes came from here, that's even worse -- of all the people that don't know you and looked at the New Stories pages only ten finished the 1 page story and voted. I actually felt bad for you and voted you a pity 5. I like when people submit stories without sex under the erotic cats, but yours shouldn't be under BDSM.

(two 1s, one 2 and five 5s).

And I've been added to a favourite authors list :)

I tracked the numbers through the day. To account for the various ratings obtained, the votes would be pretty much as I've descibed them.

Clearly, no less than half the people who voted love my work. Out of 2440 visits (for Love, Part I), that's over a thousand people.

~smile~

Mom was from Liverpool. Dad from Grimsby, Ontario.

I've been a Canadian all my life, and never more proud to be one than when we legalized same-sex marriage.

I wish it worked like that, but you can only go by votes for the number of people who've read your work. I have stories with over 100,000 views, but I can only say 300-500 actually read the whole story.

Is it more likely that 1's and 5's were the majority of the votes with outliers around the actual consistent score, or were the majority of votes 3's and 4's(closer to the consistent score for the day) with a few outliers at 1 and 5? If most of the votes were 1 and 5 you would see more of a fluctuation between your reported scores for the day. You reported scores consistently enough to give us a good idea that there wasn't much fluctuation at all, which there should be with five, ten, and twenty-five votes -- if in fact there was a battle between the lovers and the haters.

Come back when you get a red H.

I didn't report the changes every time there was a vote, but I tracked them.

The score reached as high as 3.77 yesterday. Increments in rating were consistent with "5" votes, decreases consistent with "1s" and "2s".

:)

Four people have added me to their favourite authors list.

From a comment posted to Love, Part II:

Beautiful
I want to thank you for explaining so effectively the roles of the slave and Master. It's so hard to explain that it's a circle and that a True Master will care for his slave and the relationship in many ways is much much more than marriage. A very good story. oh and to the person who said wrong category...no. bdsm doesn't have to be all whips and chains. it's often love and relationship too. someone who is in the know or in the lifestyle truly would know.

That's good. Since the casual thing isn't going so well you might want to take your act to the Author's hangout. I'm sure they'd love to have you. :)

As you can see, your threads have now been moved to where they belong! Remember that for your future posts!
