I,m wondering, why is it that so many females take to horse riding, as opposed to males?, what is the main attraction?.

Well I am not sure. For myself I was raised on a farm and around horses before I could walk. I spent most of my free time in the pastures and barns surrounded by the herd. There is a bond that is formed with the horse and it could just be my intuitive side connecting to theirs.....but men can have that bond as well. I knew many men who were fantastic with horses.

Horses are wild, strong, powerful and beautiful. Each breed is different, but my favorite by far is the Mustang. For they truly are wild and very stubborn and usally they are the ones holding the reins. I got to a point with my mare that I didn't need a bridle.....just the pressure of my thighs could change directions....there is a very special connection between horse and rider.

I rode for a few years and quite enjoyed it. Horses are beautiful animals. I like how they smell, too.

I was a total horse nut when I was a preteen girl. My theory about it is that horse musculature gets registered as "male" by some of the subconscious image-recognition instincts in our heads. So seeing a horse show-jumping or something like that is equivalent to seeing a shirtless rockstar dancing around on stage - both things that girls beginning puberty respond strongly to.

i am weird I guess, I am not big on horses, they are nice enough and they do not smell bad like a wet dog. I just like cars better, and Robert Plant does not set my motor running, though I love his music.

I suppose I am just more nuts than the rest of us.
