True, but he would not afford the same to those who disagree with him.

A better question is: when will people who allegedly consider him to be a troll stop responding to the guy?

I keep trying to convince people not to defend themselves to him, but it keeps going. Like I said in the thread, who cares if an Internet Person thinks you're dysfunctional?

This thread is for all trolls, though. I'll bump it next time we get a good one!

I still don't think he's a Troll. Just a different sort of person than we're used to seeing around here.

I don't think he is a deliberate troll, which is the accepted definition - somebody who fucks with people to get a rise out of them. I do think that someone who stirs up shit, gets us all riled up, isn't a participant in the board except for their own discussions, and has a one-track mind with an inability to see other points of view is a troll, though.

Back in 1998, I joined the Open Directory Project (dmoz.org). I was active there for many years, and we saw a lot of what we called ODPSS - Open Directory Project Suicide Syndrome. People who get it into their heads that THEIR WAY is the right way, won't listen to other options, and get all huffy and leave the project.

On LambdaMOO, we have a person called lady_godiva. She insists that everybody hates her, and she keeps promising to leave because everybody abuses her so much. She hasn't yet, but there's a mailing list called *trotted-off to count all the times she (or anyone else) claims they're going to quit the MOO.

That's all I'm doing here. Keeping track of people who are being big stinkers, stirring up shit, and are going to leave eventually.

Actually I don't understand what all the heated-upness is about... yes he's narrow minded and ignorant, but look at all the excellent information about/examples of BDSM based relationships, safety in the "casual" scene, relationships that fall outside the whole munch-type-thing foundation/etc that has occurred over the last few days. How is that a bad thing?

He has a right to his beliefs, just like anyone. And anyone with two brain cells to rub together will see what is and isn't reasonable and logical about the discussion at hand.

That's how I feel about it.
