The way it usually works is, WE TOSS YOUR ASS OUTTA OFFICE IF YOU CANT BALANCE THE BOOKS WITHOUT MORE TAXES. AND IF YO ASS IS ON THE STREET YO CANT ENRICH YO FRIENDS, WHICH TRANSLATES TO YO AINT GOT NO FRIENDS.

Granted, the guys & girlz in Washington are clever and devious, but American paychecks are a finite source of loot; when my pay is totally absorbed by taxes there aint no more trips to that well fo mo money. And I got fingers, too, to get some of it back.

Sounds like a great agenda JBJ!!!! But why didn't ya pursue it while Reagan was increasing the national debt by a factor of 3? Or Bush the first when he doubled it? or Bush the second when he wiped out a surplus and put a few trillion on the books?
Where were ya then? Hangin' out with Larry Craig in the Minnesota men's room? Or were ya distracted by Cheney's undisclosed location?
Yer a total tool.......................................

OK, just a question: Whose taxes here have been raised? My property tax went down because the economy devalued my properties and the tax rates weren't set up. And I got a tax credit without my income tax rate going up either. And if I was buying a house anytime recently, I would have gotten a hefty gift from the government for that too.

So, who here actually paid a higher rate in taxes in the first year of the Obama administration? And why? And what did the Obama administration have to do with it?

Hey y'all:
I'm the one who got a refund.....to the tune of several thousand and change....but then I work, pay taxes, own properties, donate to charity, etc. so I'm eligible for the deductions that make a refund possible......I don't mind letting the 'GUV' hold on to some of it for a few months, so long as it makes them happy.....I get it back and lose virtually nothing in return.....but then, I make it so I don't mind....

Commentary from Bill Maher:

Maher: Ask the American people how they want to tame the deficit. By raising taxes or cutting spending. And cutting spending wins. Always. By a huge margin.

Next question: So what government spending do you want to see cut? Answer: nothing. Not a thing.

America is like a family that spends way more than they bring in. But Mom won't give up her shopping sprees and Dad won't give up that big stupid boat he bought. Even now when we utterly can't afford a big stupid boat.

And you know what America's stupid boat is? It's our empire. We have an empire. We have half a million of our troops in other peoples' countries all over the world. That is our boat. And maintaining that empire and everything that goes into defense costs us about $1 trillion dollars a year. Most of which goes to fighting the Russians in 1978.

As you know, and the facts reveal, the Democraps controlled Congress during both of Reagan's terms of office. Plus! The House of Representatives controls ALL legislation involving money. So Ron sent Tip O'Neill a proposed budget and Tip added all his friends & family to it.

Always happy to help out one of our Special Olympians with a civics lesson.

Bill Maher's full of shit.

Most Americans are for ending the ridiculous occupations of Iraq and Afghanistans next week and cutting Department of Defense spending. Fuck Lockheed and all those jokers, they cut jobs regardless of the contracts that get, use the downturn as an excuse.

Not me, I made about 3000.00 more and paid 3000.00 less in taxes, I actually got a refund, something that hasnt happened in about a decade.

Here are the actual numbers, LaRocha, which prove that Bill Maher isn't full of shit, but you are. (I usually try to refrain from engaging in playground taunts, but since you brought it up - right back atcha, buddy. :) )

http://yglesias.thinkprogress.org/a...ically-feasible-are-defense-spending-cuts.php

Only about a quarter of the population wants defense spending cut. But given how terrified politicians are to touch defense spending — we even invented a category called “non-defense discretionary spending” in order to protect it — maybe it’s time to take another look. Washington may consider defense spending sacred, but the country doesn’t — at least not more than anything else.

I think it’s possible to be too literal about this kind of poll finding. The most relevant issue, when thinking about cuts, is thinking about the political fight that ensues. If a President proposed cutting the defense budget and then you had a ton of stories in the press where senior military officers fret off the record that the cuts will endanger America, and every television network trotted out a former general with undisclosed ties to defense contractors as an “independent analyst” to condemn the cuts, and if active duty soldiers sent emails to their civilian family and friends complaining about the cuts, and if think tank experts who depend on cooperation with the military to do their research either complained about the cuts or else stayed silent, then I think you’d have a giant political fiasco on your hands.

Those are yore fax JimmyButtJamms and no one elses. I'll be glad to discuss who controlled what during Reagan's first term (lottsa coattail congressmen and Senators on that one)
You're entitled to your opinion but not your own set of facts......Reagan was the worst president this country ever had.....followed closely by Bush #2........
Lie to me and everyone else if ya want: but don't lie to y'self!!!!!

I'm sure your Usual Suspect friends like your thinking but they can open a civics book and see who the liar is.

For Tax Year 2008 I grossed 128,000.00 and paid 14,000.00 in income tax
For Tax Year 2009 I grossed 131,000.00 and paid 13,130.00 in income tax

Surprise, I actually paid less under Obama.

I live in a state with no income tax, the sales tax is 6.00 percent and my property taxes were about 1600.00 for both years.

No, I don't feel that I'm over taxed.

Surprise that was the Bush tax cuts that are still in effect for 2009. Obama had nothing to do with it! He is going to let them expire so in 2010 expect a big increase over 2009.

Why would you intentionally mislead him. He stated 131,000.00 as his 2009 income. There will be no tax increase for him in 2010 or after under Obama. Why do you feel the need to lie. Be honest and upfront.

I'd like to know the answer to this question too. Obama gets elected and BAM! All of a sudden you've got a crazy out pouring of people angry about taxes. Where were these people during Bush's 8 years in office. How much more are these people paying in taxes? What are the figures, specific numbers of how much they payed before Obama and how much they payed after Obama? You've got a whole "party" of people blaming Obama for tax increases that I think they aren't even paying. The Taxed Enough Already, T.E.A. Party, has what valid complaint against Obama where taxes are concerned?

I tried to edit to add this but it would not let me edit my post, something about an "Invalid Link" and a message to contact the administrator. Well, here is the edit I wanted to add:

What I think is that we have a bunch of people lying. Much like Zeb Carter just lied to Smarmy_and_Sappe. He told Smarmy his taxes were going up in 2010 when in fact they will not. People by into the rhetoric they here on TV and the radio without actually doing the math themselves. If they did the math, they would find that their taxes did not go up under Obama and most likely that their taxes actually went down. I think we've got a bunch of people mad about something else but admitting to being mad about that something else would not be accepted as valid and would lead to their ridicule. Instead they try to blame it on increased taxes, an increase they reallly did not pay at all.

Taxes mistake ...

Anyone who says their taxes went up is full of it ... they didn't ... not yet at least. They probably will because there is a need to pay the bills and the affect of tax laws is not immediate for many people.

As far as the Tea Party is concerned, they're a matter of opposition to the Health Insurance Coverage or whatever the health package is or should be called.

And they claim to be ignored. The health care package stripped out the public option. They were heard. Support for the public option was high among people not in the tea party if you look at the polls yet it was still taken out of the bill. They're whining about not being heard is not based in reality.

I'm glad someone else thinks so too! or are you talking about me? :(

Haha no, no, I meant her. What a yutz. "The government just needs to print more money, reduce taxes, and maintain current spending!"

It seems the "economists" she consulted don't know shit either. The debt to them is just different accounts that can just be deleted and interest rates can be set to 0 if they want.

I wonder what they think will happen with the lender of that debt calls in its marks and wants the interest originally agreed upon?

I'm still waiting for someone to step up and declare (with a straight face) that any tax rate under the control of the Obama administration has been raised during the Obama adminstration. The only thing I know about is money given back by administration programs.

Well, since it's just a matter of "data entry", I'm guessing they think that countries can just delete record of their debts and lenders will simply be forced to admit it doesn't exist then.

This writer and whatever idiots she's sourcing appear to believe that electronic money is just imaginary currency and you can therefore pull it out of your ass as you like. They also seem to believe that nation debt was just some arbitrary word choice.

The interesting thing is that in this day and age when almost everything comes down to left-stance versus right-stance, her views are neither conservative nor liberal; they're just moronic. Finally, something the left and right can take a united stance on ;op

So all those NEW taxes that went into effect when Obama Care was signed don't count?
