The Difference Between Lesbian and Two Women?

I am editing multiple stories for a male who thinks he is writing about lesbians. My question is, and I think I already know the answer, is there a difference between two fems getting it on and a lesbian couple?

Just wondering.

Everything like this is on a sliding scale. Who knows where the break point is?

Of course you are right, SR. My point exactly... kind of... sort of. Not finding this in my copy of the 15th edition of you-know-what. And perhaps it is irrelevant, regardess, anyway. Perhaps making noise for no good reason at all.

Except that a "lesbian" writer told me otherwise.

Now sounding less informed than ever.

Of course a Lesbian writer will say a male can't write lesbian very well to begin with. Since I say a woman writer can't write GM very well, I'll have to concede her that point if she wants to make it.

I think the cross over the line in that continuum would be revealed in how the two women's thoughts/emotions were written. The nature of what each (one could be a lesbian and the other one not, for instance, no matter what sex act they performed) believed--was written up to believe--the relationship to be would be controlling.

In my opinion there is a big difference. Look at their emotions, as SR brought up. Are the two women fully committed to each other as a couple? Or are they having a good time until something better comes along, so to speak?
