Blood Sport anyone?

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of writing a story involving blood sport. It's something I find very interesting, but don't know enough about it from experience myself or from anyone I know personally to do it any kind of justice. Anybody willing to share their thoughts/experiences? Thanks!

Actually neither. I first learned about blood sport when a Kink panel came to speak in my Psych of Human Sexuality class. Blood sport in the way I believe it is erotic gratification/arousal from seeing someone bleed or causing it (think needles pincturing the nipples). From what the panel described it as it can be as small as minute punctures within only slight bleed up to a steady flow depending on how daring the participants are. The story I have running in my head revolves around a secret society of people who actively participate in blood sport.

Also, if there are other names for what I call blood sport (thats the name the kink panel used), please let me know. Thanks!

Well, I've never heard the term "blood sport" for this before, I think about martial arts there when I read this. "Vampire play" and "blood fetish", yes..

Also, "vampire play" might be misleading these days, too, with all those vampire TV series...Haematophilia would be the correct term, but hey, who knows this without looking it up?

I guess Haematophilia is a wide area, too. From the "vampire play" over to menstruation to simple sadism with blood flow. I doubt that it is possible to write a "correct" blood fetish story.

Can't be much more helpful here, blood is a result for me, not a goal.

As stated previously, the term "blood sport" is a misguided term for MMA, or mixed martial arts, of which I am very familiar, but as far as blood play, I have nothing to add.

Thanks everyone! Like i said before "blood sport" wasn't the term i came up with, its the term the speaker in the panel who participated in this kind of act called it. Thanks to all who have responded, now i feel like i have a bit better understanding and have more information to go research with.

i love it personally, me and my ex did that stuff alll the time. we used clean razors to make really shallow cuts (didnt even leave a small scar!) and wed lick it off each other

I am part of a bloodsports group....

But there is a difference between blood fetish and blood sports.

"Sport" is exactly what it implies, either team vs team or one-on-one. Think "testosterone and adrenaline olympics". Anything that raises those chemicals physiologically, and involves an intense and competitive workout. That is why the one person mentioned martial arts. Sparring is a great bloodsport between partners of equal skill, as you can constantly try to level-up with each other. This includes swords, and other forms of weapon-extension sports/training. Any type of hand-to-hand combat is also bloodsport, as well as wrestling, paintballing, SCA or real damage historical reenactments, and some 'extreme sports' such as competitive climbing, suspension, etc that can be done as a 'versus'.

Recently I got a slight concussion playing a form of tag with swords in the rugged woods at midnight on the new moon (aka no moon) running around dressed in black and practicing a barbaric form of ninjitsu, basically. My injury was not the result of an opponent's strike, but of the tree branch I stupidly smacked my head on when I lost footing among its roots.

How you know if you are a bloodsport junkie is if you get like me, and people are freaked out by the fact that injuries that are acquired consentually through doing what you love to do actually give you energy (a rush from the pain) as opposed to other types of injuries that make you tired. Also, as another friend put it, I get the same wicked gleam when tossed across the woods with a sword in my hand, as I do being thrown across the bed. There is a real rush to finding a man that is my match at either, lol.

There is also blood fetish, though. I am not big on that, but I guess I have it, as I actually like the taste of fresh blood in my mouth, be it mine or someone else's, and the sophistication of a potential lover's biting skills knocks the competition anyday. But anything extreme is definitely sadism--more about the violence and infliction of suffering--or even outright permanent mutilation-- than the blood itself. For some people it is also part of a scar fetish, which I have encountered in someone, and is truly an obsession with everything to do with the creation and nature of scars.

Masochists have their own flavors of this as well, and are usually more particular as to what they specifically like done to themselves, such as the guy that likes to have nails repeatedly driven into his flesh and pulled out again. Extreme and very specific fetish.

I would say come up with an idea of exactly what you are looking to write about, and post it asking for fetishists of that flavor for specifics. Most of us are happy to share info and experiences.
