I feel a traitor to my generation. Cannabis has no effect on me except drowsiness. And being a bear capable of falling asleep anywhere on five minutes notice, that's not much of a draw.

You should try a Sativa-dominant strain, although you may find it provokes some paranoia. Like the way different types of alcohol provoke different moods, different strains of weed will give somewhat different types of "high". Indica-dominant strains tend to give a more sleepy high, termed "couch-lock" by connoisseurs, that is also prized for its sleep-inducing and pain-relieving qualities. Sativa-dominant strains produce a high that is described as more "cerebral". In practice, this is a much more happy, outgoing sort of high that also produces those pot-induced conversations that seem so thoughtful, at least in the moment. Either type may, in some cases, exacerbate negative feelings such as paranoia, but you can't OD on weed like you can on alcohol or any other number of legal drugs.

Just to illustrate my point, I'd like to introduce to the discussion an Irish group doing their own Country song about the effects of tequilla:

I agree that legalization may not occur with this election. I think the part about everyone being able to grow a small amount of it for recreational use in their yard will put the damper on it.
