I don't think of SamuelX as a troll in the usual sense of the word. A dickwad, yes, but not a troll. Trolls come here to have fun by being a jerk, but they are not usually jerks themselves, they are just trying to get a rise out of us. SamuelX is a super wanker, has generally no idea what he's talking about, and has been all over the GLBT forum for years and years. So while he is a complete asshat, I don't really think of him as a troll.

In retrospect, this thread (and the snippets of other ones in which BL got active) reminds me of holding a political discussion with some conservatives. The truly strict conservatives tend to see the world in quite black and white terms while I and many of my liberal brethren see it in shades of black, gray, and white.

It's nearly impossible to discuss politics across that divide because half of the discussion involves people who believe that there is a single right answer and anyone who thinks otherwise is weak of mind. It's really a waste of time.

BL strikes me as a one-answer kind of guy trying to impose himself in a world of gray shades.

"these guys" didn't "convince" the man to delete his writings; he threw a fit and chose to delete them because not everyone shares his point of view.

For example, he believes my relationship to be abusive because I don't believe in the concept of "True Love"/"The One"/etc. The fact that it's a very give & take, mutually rewarding, respectful, supportive, communicative, monogomous intimate friendship that makes both if us ridiculously happy is irrelevant.

I don't normally, but he started a thread that was abusive and racist and was really annoying everyone. I, of course, decided to play with the troll, and made him very mad at me.
