Not so tight fisted Republicans.

I trust that someone will be up before the Judge sometime soon ?
If not, why not ?

And I'm fairly sure that there have been NO Democrats caught with their fists, which is I hear they like, in the cookie jar.

Is this done to avoid being caught?

I mean, do they choose a staff flunkee who can remain relatively unnoticed with the finances unless there is a serious fuck-up?

'Cause that's almost smart.

I couldn't care less what they do with the fundraising money since they don't have any of mine.

If I had sent them money I'd be extremely pissed.

Gotta stop posting these things, Jack. All they do is make Zeb say: "Bet the Dems did it too!"

Behold:

Yeah, Zebbie. I'm sure we can go back to the Teapot Dome scam...wait, that was Republicans...I'm sure we can go back to the Corporate monopolies of Theodore Roosevelt's time and...wait, that was Republicans...well, anyway, we will agree that there have been plenty of Democrats skimming the cream. But allow me to take a moment to explain what this is really all about: When Democrats spend money or have sex, they're not doing something they said no one should do. But since Republicans are screaming that no one should spend money, or have sex, when they spend money, or have sex (or do both!), they're being what we call Hypocrites. And when someone does something hypocritical, they get a lot of attention and finger pointing. Far more than someone who isn't doing something hypocritical.

But before you accuse us of ONLY discussing Republican hypocrisy (thus being hypocrites ourselves), allow me to point out all the threads we had on Spitzer's prostitution ring (he was a Democrat, you'll recall). We had all those thread about him NOT because he was a Democrat, but because he was, yes, a hypocrite. He'd said he was going to wipe out prostitution--then had a prostitution ring. So while i know it seems like we're only picking on Republicans, the truth is, we have and will pick on any hypocrites that come our way. Unfortunately for you, Republicans have been very big about making blanket statements of late. Like "No sexual education!' and "Don't spend money!" and "Gay is bad!" This means that they're more likely to be caught out as hypocrites. People who say, "Live and let live" don't risk that as much.

So, you're wasting your fucking time by trying to "excuse" what these Republicans are dong by saying, "Dems have done it too!" (1) It's not about Democrats or Republicans--it's about hypocrites. (2) Any misdeeds the Dems have done--and you can find a lot of them all the way back to the Civil War--don't excuse any misdeed the Republican do right at this very minute. So saying, "Dems have done it too!" doesn't get these Republicans off the hook. All it does is make you look stupid and juvenile--and like you've got no defense or real excuse for this behavior, because if you did, you'd use it rather than lamely saying, "The other side can be corrupt, too!" Duh!

But if you want to keep on that way, be my guest. Just remember, when another Spitzer comes along, you better not say shit. Because you have essentially told us, "Don't judge lest you be judged!" You have made it hypocritical for you to mock or gloat the Democrats...because you've essentially said that both sides are equally corrupt and we should keep that in mind and not mock one side only. If you want to mock, etc. the foibles of others, then you can't, when others mock your foibles, say, "We're all only human, don't do that!"

and I quote...

The Congressional Post Office scandal refers to the discovery of corruption among various Congressional Post Office employees and members of the United States House of Representatives, investigated 1991–1995, climaxing in the conviction of House Ways and Means Committee chairman Dan Rostenkowski (D-IL).

Initially an investigation by the United States Capitol Police into a single embezzlement charge against a single employee, evidence rapidly led to the inclusion of several other employees, before top Democrats in the House of Representatives moved to shut down the whole line of inquiry, despite protests from Frank Karrigan, chief of the Capitol Police.

A new investigation was started by the United States Postal Service, which eventually submitted a report which was held in silence by Speaker Thomas Foley (D-WA) until media reports of embezzlement and money laundering leaked out in 1992.

Following public outcry, the Democratic leaders of the House were forced to refer the matter to the Committee on House Administration, which started its own investigation.

That committee broke into two parts along party lines, the Democrats issuing a report saying the matter was closed, but the Republicans issuing a dissenting report including a number of unanswered questions and problems with the investigation.

The Republican charges were largely ignored until July 1993, when the Congressional Postmaster Robert Rota pleaded guilty to three criminal charges, implicating Representatives Dan Rostenkowski (D-IL) and Joe Kolter (D-PA). They were accused of heading a conspiracy to launder Post Office money through stamps and postal vouchers.

Rostenkowski was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in prison, in 1995.

U.S. President Bill Clinton pardoned Rostenkowski in 2000.

I remember protesting the Rostenkowski pardon. I agree, completely hypocritical.

Got any more, maybe less than ten years old?

The story's old news...this went down over two years ago...The St. Feeblesburg Times resurrected it to stir the pot in the Rubio/Crist catfight...neither of whom they would endorse either. ;)

It may be old news but it is still interesting how a Money Raiser uses money to raise money and sometimes the 'little people" benefit. The 25 year old junior assistant, runs up a million dollar bill and travels all over in style and probably gets laid too. That is a dream job! :cattail::cattail::cattail:
