The problem is that he has this fixed idea of what people who don't agree with are like. I know this sounds heretical but a lot of us are well-armed. Yes, it's possible to be a Life Member of the NRA and still vote for a Democrat once in a while. Hell, Mr. Omega and I have had a number of conversations on the subject of our firearms. I'll admit that my arsenal is rather small by Texas standards but it's bigger than the average Californians.

PHOENIX - Arizona is just a few steps away from dropping most restrictions on carrying a concealed weapon.
HB 2347, given preliminary House approval Thursday, removes all the criminal penalties that now exist for having a weapon in a purse, under a jacket or tucked into a boot without having a state-issued permit. That permit requires certain training and a background check.

Identical legislation already has been approved by the Senate. That leaves only a final roll call by each chamber to send it to Gov. Jan Brewer.

Coincidentally, the Minute Men just had to disband when they got an overenthusiastic response to their call for armed volunteers to man the Arizona/Mexico border. Apparently, they didn't want to take responsibility for the expected fire fights, so they pulled the plug.

Once the concealed weapons ban is lifted, I'm hoping the gunslingers all get drunk and shoot each other, which would accomplish two goals: Thin the herd, and reduce reliance on foreign oil when all those 4x4's get shot full of holes and end up in the junk yard.

Funny, that doesn't seem to happen in either Vermont or Alaska where there has never been a requirement for a concealed weapons permit. Wonder why? Could it be that in spite of the fusileophobia among the more hysterical members of the the Left that gun owners from both sides of the political spectrum aren't the crazies you want to imagine them to be?
