There will be no cooperation for the rest of the year....They have poisoned the well in what they have done and how they have done it. - John McCain

I guess when he said country first he didnt really mean it.

By the way when the hell did republicans cooperate with the democrats?

Kinda hard to cooperate when all the discussions are behind locked doors.

So, he tried to get a different job, didn't make it, was allowed to keep his old job, and now he's going to stop doing it?

He needs to be fired.

Pelosi needs to be fired.

Pelosi regularly turns off the microphone on the House floor, shuts off amendments, and debate, shuts out all public srutiny, and gets away with it.

Ignore political party; oppression of a minority’s right to speak/debate/and make amendments, censorship and media manipulation are unacceptable in the United States!

It was the fourth quarter and the Republicans were behind by 3 points. They could have passed on fourth down for the win, of kicked a field goal for the tie.

They decided to run out the clock.

They should have known the Democrats would stop America's clock.

Poor coaching can overcome the talents of the best players.

You guys are acting like you really thought the Republicans were going to win this one.

Who can win, when the officials manipulate the outcome of the game?

Whining is so unbecoming. The Republicans will have another purge before November. They could return to a more mainstream position and have some influence over national policy, but we know that is not going to happen. Those kind of people will be hounded out of the party because they are hell on Fox's ratings.

What is more likely is a slate of even more fringe candidates, unable to work and accomplish anything.

The hope for the Republicans remains the same. Obama has to have some sort of monumental fuckup that can't be repaired. Maybe an invasion of North Korea or give Arizona and California back to Mexico.

A game plan that consists of nothing but hoping to recover a fumble in the other teams end zone has to work at least once a century.

90 years to go.

Tell me one past speaker of the house that's not known for the exact same thing.

If the Republicans wanted to control the House they should have won the majority.

Censorship? Huh??

Media manipulation is unacceptable in the United States?

-Death panels (54% of Republicans still believe this according to a CBS.com poll and Sarah Palin still pushes the lie to Tea Partiers who eat it up)
-Withholding cancer treatment from your grandma
-Soviet-style rationing of care
-Accusations of socialism
-Accusations of communism
-Accusations of nazi-ism
-Goverment takeover
-Will bankrupt the nation
-"This is Armageddon!!!" (a direct John Boehner quote)
- Illegal aliens are going to get it and bankrupt us
- This is an Abortion bill!!

The above list is all republican lies. Not "conservative" lies, but lies promoted by actual senators and congressmen such as Eric Cantor, Mitch McConnell, and John Boehner.

But you're okay with Republicans manipulating the hell out of the media, because you agree with their politics, don't you?

This is why you have no cred here, ever.

The old shit head has finally come to his senses to understand why fraternization with the enemy is wrong. He's spent a lifetime "reaching across the aisle" to promote Democrat ideals at the expense of his own. Look where it got him.

Well Vette, either that or he's calculating how much he's gonna lose the primary by already....

From your lips to God's ear my dear, but unfortunately it looks like J.D. has been successfully marginalized in the national media, where the only good Republican is a mealy mouthed liberal Republican stumbling all over himself to compromise his principles.:D

Isn't the biggest news media outlet (by far) Fox News? And almost all political commentary shows with any ratings to speak of are far right wing? And almost all radio talk shows are far right wing?

And since nobody reads newspapers anymore you can't use that argument.

I thought that was the beauty of primaries. They're local, both in geography and ideology, so whatever the national media says and does is a bit of a moot point.

A populist stumping spree could be all he needs in a state like AZ.

Yep, and naive assumptions about the benevolence and omniscience of centralized government power have lead more people to ruin, put more people against the firing wall, and into the ground, than anything else in history, but hey, I have no qualms about your offer to lead the way across the border into Zimbabwe knowing that "useful idiots" are always the first ones served.:D;)

Go back and read the post about "poor coaching."

The "Americans are stupid" argument is a trick play. You can't run it but once a game and it was tried in the first quarter.

Who said Americans are stupid? Since 99% of them don't know what's in the health care bill, I think it's safe to say they might be ignorant. Do you know what's in that 2900 pages of gobbledygook? Have you read the reconciliation bill, or does your enthusiasm for the plan emanate from a blind faith in the Speakers talking points?
Does this mean you've read it? All 2900 pages of gobbledygook? Is that why you're so sure of your conclusions about it?

Or have you read or heard a summary somewhere and drawn conclusions from that? Maybe even someone else's conclusions...?

On another thread a few weeks ago, I suggested that many Americans were against the bill because they didn't know what was in it and just heard the Fox News/Limbaugh/Hannity/Beck/Malkin lying, fearmongering version of it.

You responded with a sarcastic "oh, so that's your excuse? The American people just don't know what's in the bill? Or do they just know it's horrible (or whatever)". Now here you are changing your tune.

Remember that? I'm 99.9% sure it was you.

Here is a suggestion and I mean this in the best possible way. Tomorrow morning, go down to the Clerk of Courts office and ask for all the forms needed to become a candidate for Representative to Congress. Put yourself on the ballot and run for office. Then it will be your job to read the 2900 pages. I pay my Congressman to read it for me. He is on the job, so I don't need to worry about it.

It's better than looking out the window of the Capital and counting which side has the most protest signs.

In November, he and I will have a short meeting to discuss his performance over the past 2 years. Even though we went to High school together, he may not like the results of our meeting.

I noticed the other vietnam vet, long time senator, married to a rich woman and living off her money, navy vet, one time failed presidential candidate isnt acting like this.

McCain turned into a fucking cry baby. I Damn near voted for him too.

He'll go on the stump, too, and Vette is probably right that he'll win the primary after all. But I'd love to see him go down. I'm sick of Mr. McCrankyPants. But I think talk radio and uh certain tv shows are more influential these days than local stumpin. At least for now.
