Firstly, an apology in advance. What I am asking about has probably been dealt with before, somewhere, although I can't find it.

Ok, the situation: I've written a few stories that are posted on this site, although none for a while. I have a new story almost ready to post. The problem is knowing what category to submit it in. None seem to be an obvious fit.

The story, simplistically, is about a young male entering into a sexual affair with an older married couple, so it includes bisexuality. Any advice is appreciated.

From what you say, you should consider Group Sex. Erotic Couplings is really one-on-one and Fetish doesn't seem to fit.

Either Mature or Group, with a statement by you the author that it contains bisexual sex. If you are uncomfortable with either of those there is always Fetish.

But could be Mature also but not Gay Male so to be safe Fetish just for the bi-sexual contact involved. But Group is probably best. Although if it is a long story it might fit into Novels & Novellas.

group is good but do add an authors note at the top about the bisexuality. The rabid homophobic's will still read it and scream but you tried to warn them and someone will tell them so.

How much older is the older couple? If we're talking in their 50's or higher, I'd put it into Mature. If we're talking a 21 year old with 30 or 40-somethings, then Group.

Always consider not what the story is about but which set of readers it would please most. That's the category it should go in.

But as Tx mentions, if the two men have sex, then even the Group sex category readers are likely to consider it "Gay Male" and get mad at you for putting that into their group-sex fantasies (which are almost always about men doing women and women doing men--and maybe women doing women). You might honestly consider putting it into Gay Male for that reason.

Thanks for the advice. The guy is 19, the couple are early 50's. From the replies, I think I'll post it in the Group category, with an author's note explaining the bisexuality in it up top.

Shrug. Bisexuals go to the gay male category too. There being no bisexual category. And women. A lotta women. I think they both like the het sex.

I'm not defending the practice of shunting all male bisexuality into the gay male category. In fact, I think the rest of the categories and their readers should start enjoying some bi-sex. But I'm not the writer of this story and the decision to put this story out there, bisexuality and all, is not up to me.

My experience is that MMF gets more viewers and fewer negative comments (not relating to the story itself) when put in GM than when put in Group. That's just the reality of life here at Lit., where gay/lesbian/bi categories are given short shrift. I think FFM probably goes just fine in Group.

I think the concensus is group or mature, and I agree. Either way, you should include a notice there is some sexual action between men, because there are some homophobes about. Lit. Management will put it into the category they choose anyhow.

Compared to 19 it certainly is. I have written Mature stories where the woman is in her late forties and the man in thirty years younger. It's not so much the age that counts as the age spread.

NonConsent/Reluctance
Fetish (i.e. feet, watersports, not just "doesn't fit elsewhere)
Transsexuals & Crossdressers
Incest
Gay Male
BDSM

If there are nonconsent elements that trumps incest or gay male elements. A story of gay male incest should go in Incest. A story of Gay Male BDSM should go into Gay Male.

Most of the other categories can move around a bit more freely. Anal and Group trump Erotic Couplings, although it's possible to write a romance story with BDSM, Anal and Group elements as long as the focus is on the romance. Interracial has some trump power, but really only for Big Black Cock fetish stories; generally races can intermingle freely in a lot of the other categories. Lesbian stories can slip into Group, First Time, Romance and BDSM without raising much of a stink.

Male Bisexuality doesn't really have a neat little home on Lit. Even with a warning, the scores won't do very well in Group Sex. Putting a bisexual (MMF) threesome in Gay Male doesn't seem like a very good fit either. I reluctantly agree "Group Sex" is the best fit, but be prepared for negative comments and a score that won't break 4.2 or so.

Thanks for all the response. So group it will stay. As for the negative comments I may/will get, that's unfortunate. The score doesn't interest me, from 'before' the most positive responses I got in emails, messenger etc, were from lower scoring ones, which was weird in a way.

Everything trumps E/C. If you write a story about ordinary sex between an interracial couple, it will go to I/R, but if the sex is anal, or if there is a BDSM or non-consent aspect or if it is incest, it will go to those categories. Group sex stories with an interracial aspect will go to Group.

I think Celebrity trumps anything. If you write a story about a celeb, it will go to that category, no matter what the people do. If you write about an actor tying up and anally raping his crossdressing brother with a dildo, it will go to Celeb. I think this is so they can include the disclaimer at the beginning.
