When was the first time you got stoned? What were you doing?
For me the first several times were in the same venue.
She had the weed. I had the car and the tent. We both contributed to the food.
The first time was the most incredible although the later were just as good.
She wanted an adventure and I was willing. We were both 17 and from different worlds. It was early December.
We planned it out and I helped her get together what she needed. Cold weather clothes, warm and lightweight. We loaded the car with our packs and set out for New Hampshire.
To say it was cold would be an understatement. I had an electric heater plugged into the cigerette lighter to supplement the car heater and it barely kept it above freezing inside the car. (1968 Chevy II Nova) It took us several hours to drive to the parking lot here we parked and pulled on our packs before hiking into the woods.
She was about four feet tall and feisty. She couldn't carry much but she tried. I carried the bulk of the gear. After several more miles we reached our selected camping area and found the perfect spot. In the angle of a cliff we set up the tent and started getting ready. We gathered a ton of dry wood and started a fire. I cut a bunch of Spruce boughs and spread them on the ground before setting up the tent on top of them.
Inside we put down several sleeping pads and covered them with a heavy down sleeping bag covered with several wool blankets.
My pack had held the tent, sleeping bag and two of the three pads as well as the blankets. It also held the majority of the food. (Not to mention the Ax, Saw, A single shot rifle and survival kit.) Her pack held more than a few bottles of Tequila wrapped in blankets, some of the food and a large bag of weed. (As well as her clothing.)
Once we had the tent set up and the fire going we had dinner. Then came the fun. She broke out a bottle of tequila and the weed. I had never smoked weed.
For the next several nights we kept the local forest critters awake and possibly amused.
How about you?
