When I "Preview" my story, it needs paragraph editing. Answer below:

When I first started submitting stories to Literotica, it
was a real pain in the ass because I had to go through
the entire story in "Edit" mode and re-arrange all the
paragraphs.

After submitting the text, the preview was terrible, and
I had to spend the next 20 or 30 minutes going through
it in the edit mode to put all the dis-jointed paragraphs
back into place.

Example of submitted text:

My son and I decided to go swimming in the nude while
my husband sleeps upstairs, and my daughter is over at
her girlfriend's house.

*** This is the way I wrote it, but after I copy and paste
this text, it would look like this: ***

My son and I decided to go swimming in the nude while
my husband
sleeps
upstairs, and my daughter is over at her girlfriend's house.

So, I would have to spend time to edit the numerous
sentences/paragraphs back together in the edit mode.

Well, I figured out how to format the text so I do not have
to do any editing!

I am sure there are several methods, but this one works
for me.

Use Windows WordPad. Click on Start, Programs,
Accessories, WordPad.

After WordPad starts, click on "View", then "Ruler".

When you type your story, do not let any characters go
past "5" on the ruler.

After your story is completed, click on "File", "Save As",
and save the file as "TheStoryIWrote.wri".

***Note*** You have to type in TheStoryIWrote.wri
because there is not a "Save As" file type extension
for WRI

You must type in the full name of the file, then select
"Save".

Use the extension: WRI

The next time you use Windows Explorer to open the
file, it will automatically open with WordPad.

Life is much easier now. I can write a story, submit it,
then log off.

ps: I prefer being obnoxious, but sometimes my
medication actually works.

pss: After a little over 24 hours my latest story has had
10,775 reads. You got to love Literotica! God Bless you
guys, girls and especially the readers. I can't wait to check
my email!

If you use word to create your story make sure you have it set to single space with 0 pts between lines and paragraphs. Then place and extra return between paragraphs.

Just like you do here at LIT forum.

Then select and copy and paste it into the text box.

What a pain in the ass!

I use OpenOffice, save as either text or rtf, and it just works. no putzing around in an edit window or any other shit. and if i feel like it, i can point .lit's submit bot to my .rtf file, and let it do all the heavy lifting.

Why do y'all put up with that crap? It's your computer - make it work the way you do, rather than the other way around. When you have to spend time trying to contort your mal-formed paragraphs into a fairly standard text submission box, it's not the standard text box that's the problem, it's the source text, as rendered by your word processor. There are way better tools out there.

But hey, it's your time, your money - spend it how you like. I personally don't like fighting with bots or word processors, or even text boxes.

One thing I do that <might> help y'all - when you're done with your story, there should be a button to show Non-Printing Characters - it often looks like a paragraph symbol (the capitol P with a vertical line through it) - eliminate all NPC's within your paragraphs, but leave the paragraph marks at the end of paragraphs. You shouldn't have to count characters per line, or self limit line sizes. When I write, the only time I touch <return> is twice at the end of each paragraph - once to end the paragraph, once to separate the paragraphs with a blank line - just like posting on the forums.

I just copy and paste from Word.

Sometimes, after Preview, I have to add additional <cr>s to get the paragraphs right, but even on a long story that takes less than five minutes.

Same here.

Yep, it's what I do, and I've never had a problem. I smile at all of these convoluted approaches some other submitters take to getting submitted.

My Word is apparently preset at zero because I've never had to do anything but copy and paste into the submission box, and I've never had to go in and add extra spaces or returns or anything.
