Add to that the conservative movement exaggerating or outright lying to make it seem even more scary and confusing (death panels anyone??), and you have a recipe for voting down pro-reform politicians.

We're all screwed though if there isn't health care reform. Seriously. I've worked in the field for a long time... It's a huge clusterfuck and needs an overhaul. I'm not 100% certain that the Dems plan is the best, but there's no other option at the moment (the repub's plans are meager at best).

Not only that, but the health care thing is worsening at an exponential rate - it's getting worse, faster, every year.

Do you realize the nation has socialized healthcare already? It's called medicare and medicaid. And CHIP. And thousands of public hospitals. And a lot of other things.

And military

And schools

And universities

And postal system

And the TSA

And utilities

And libraries
