Don't get me wrong. It's a good series. But the medium of anime could do far more for it in terms of visuals. Only so much can be done without a Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen-sized budget

This is an excellent point.

Unfortunately, as adorably quaint as "DW" animation has been so far, it's hard for me to imagine a high-quality anime production on the level of the greats.

This is part of the reason I read the comics, too, because they can attempt bigger-scope stuff without botching the CGI quotient.

All that having been said, "DW" in the old days was famous for doing its best with what it had. And it worked wonders, ten times out of eleven.

I'm one of the few people who, while I agree that Macross IS a far better plot than Robotech, still think that Robotech beats out pretty much anything on American tv, live action or animated.

I wouldn't go that far. But then again, everyone's opinion is different. For me, it's:

American TV: Scrubs
Canadian TV: Sanctuary
Live Action: ( will be) The Wallflower
Animated ( NA): I'm an old-schooler, so any of those awesome Nickeloeon kids shows we used to watch when we were kids
Animated(JP): Most likely whatever interesting, kick-ass anime they have come out with ( Right now it's Mnemosyne)

It wasn't like the tank mechs from the second part of the Robotech mashup. Also, Macross Saga had the villainous Zentradi. I kind of liked the Invid for as long as they were just faceless killing machines, but really...ZENTRADI!!!

Also: Roy Focker. Who in the robotech universe is more awesome than that guy?

It's probably my favorite ongoing anime/manga right now, which is why it's a shame I'm like the one fan for it on this forum. I'd love to get something RP related going for its world, as it's filled with nearly endless possibilities. Dang Bleach lovers that fill this place. *narrows eyes*

And if I didn't have to worry about the fact that my younger cousins sometimes use the computer, I'd probably get one for the lawl factor. Most likely Nico Robin, for she is made of sex appeal, and you gotta love a girl who can grow extra parts of herself anywhere she wants.
