Big Love Tonight!

I loved the first season of Big Love but the second season was very disappointing. I hope the new episodes are better but since I no longer have HBO I'll be out of the loop.

Because 'Big Love' would be a t.v. show....

For a moment there I thought WD was just the king of non sequiturs.

Just watched it. Saw season 1, missed 2 and 3, saw 4 and now totally hooked.

The only thing I didn't get was the hat at the end. What was that about? Roman was the one who wore hats, right? Why did Bill look back at the wives like that? How did the casino people find it? Huh?

The premiere of Season 4 ends with a big moolah take and Roman Grant’s white hat somehow finding its way back into Bill’s hands. The promos for this season were all titled, “Hold Tight.” They weren’t kidding. See you next week.

loved it, loved it, loved it. hate Margene's new haircut/do. still love Niki to pieces. Barb still gets on my nerves, but that's her job. glad Roman's a popsicle. love that Adam Beach (a crush since age 13) is on the show now.

just wish they would take season breaks somewhat shorter than a millennia.

I watched season 1 and 2. Can I jump back in or do I need to watch it all?

Heck, I only ever watched season 1 and part of 2, dropped out for part of 2, all of 3, part of 4, and just picked it back up. It's as engrossing as it was - like I never left.

Nah, there's a little recap in the beginning of the show.

I thought it was ok. I really loved the guy who played Roman, so that's a loss. This show kind of reminds me of the issues I had with the Sopranos. You've got this window into a life that's different than your own, but after all of the crazy scenarios have played out, I don't really know where these characters are going or why I should care, other than there are great actors involved. I would contrast this with Six Feet Under, which went beyond the initial - ooh a funeral home! - thing and seemed to really have a clearly defined path.

Ewwwww. The actor who played Roman was funny looking to me. I'm glad he's gone!

I disagree with you ITW that there's no path for Big Love. I actually see it as similar in production to Six Feet Under. It had 6 seasons, right? Entirely possible they'll wrap up Big Love in a few seasons the same way they did with Six Feet Under.

He looked like a creepy freak, but that was perfect for the part!

Maybe I found the characters on SFU more compelling. I don't know. I love the oldest daughter. I love Albee or whatever his name is. I like Nicki and Chloe Sevigny who plays her. The actress who plays Nicki's mom is good too. I find Bill Paxton and his character to be ridiculously boring. The older son, Bill Paxton's brother...boring. I love Jennifer Goodwyn, but I find Margene boring too. Yeah, that's it actually, there are a lot of people on that show that I'm only marginally interested in.

I'm in the shower at the moment (really) but I had to mention that I love Sandy Martin's character, Selma Greene - Hollis's wife, the one who wore men's clothes. That character must have SO much backstory! :D

Oooh, yes! Also, the relationship between Albee and his top dog wife is interesting to me.

I really was sad to see Sic Feet Under go done. And Rome was great too. They really had material to keep Rome going for years. I guess it was too expensive.

I love Margene.

she was great in season 1, but she has progressively become more and more selfish and egotistical. and now that they have her on this independent career path...blech, i am totally disgusted by her character.

I was okay with her little jewelry business, but in the previews for next week, she mentions making something near $200k/yr...and she doesn't want to tell the rest of the family. To me that's not cool. Not just from a D/s perspective (and there IS D/s in their relationships, Bill is always the head) but just from a "hey, your income has a potentially huge effect on this family, let's talk about it" perspective.
