haiti earthquake.

But we owe it to these people to help them. After all those years of the U.S. making huge amounts of money on the backs of the poor, we owe it to the poor everywhere to do whatever we can to help them, particularly when disaster strikes. In our hearts, I'm sure each and ever one of us cares about the poor people of Haiti and knows that, were the shoes on the other foot, they would give their all for us as well. It's only fair. We have so much surplus that it goes to waste. It is our moral duty, and someday hopefully it will be our internationally legal duty, to help everyone everywhere. Right is right.

What would Jesus do?

You Christians seem to like saying that and bringing up religion when it comes to teaching abstinence or complaining about someone not saying "merry christmas' or wrangling for war in the Middle East. Funny that the concept of doing something for a fellow HUMAN BEING doesn't fall into that same rubric.

We know this is true. Even though a plausible scenario for blaming the earthquake on the U.S. has yet to surface, it's only right we take the total responsibility up front; after all it's been a while since we sent our special forces down there to vaccinate their dogs and clean up their garbage.:D

Bah. Special forces more like SPECIAL ED! Am I right?

just a reminder.

disaster.
suffering.
catastrophic loss.
death.

people.

Earthquakes, hurricanes, bombs blowing up buildings, pandemic diseases, civil wars and 25-car pile ups in snow storms are part of the natural order of things.

Though suffering, loss and death is unpleasant it is part of God's plan and we will never fully understand it. Though beyond our small minds the elegance of that plan can be appreciated in context.

yeah, i got shit to do today. i'll pass. this game is boring. all you do is pretend you got me when you didn't and i just respond because i have nothing better to do at the time. honestly, its done got old.
Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not pretending I "got you." And if you're going to invent a game, it might be best to let whoever you think the other players are in on it.

I'm glad to hear that you have important stuff to do, though.

Good luck with whatever it is.

We'll be here for when you get bored again.

So 9-11 was part of God's plan? Obama getting elected was part of God's plan? The Holocaust was part of God's plan?

That's waaay too simple of an explanation... no EXCUSE for my tastes. If you say that every person who gets raped or mugged or killed is because of some impartial God sitting faraway and doing nothing then it means nothing. NOTHING!

Exactly, Mr. Alt Man! We care about the poor people of Haiti, some D-level "celebrity", another schmuck soldier, the suffering professional athlete, the horrible diseases of the day, and the sad drug/alcohol/gambling addicts.

But how do we save them all?

BUSTED!

Yes I AM Robert Alt-Man. Rumors of my terminal condition are exaggerated.

It was the only way I could get some peace and quiet.

I have all I need, as you can see from this picture:

You have any idea what it feels like to have
Lohan blow you with her mouth full of coke?

A pat down and anal cavity check IS doing something for fellow human beings.

Again by your logic so is rape or murder.

You still haven't answered my questions though. Was 9-11 part of God's plan? Was Obama getting elected? If so then whats the point of fighting against it?

Obama is a gift from God.

He will correct over two-hundred years of waste and abuse, and set us on the right path.

Being a young man, I hope he can bring the blessings of his vision not just to all of the U.S. but to the entire world as well. Where would we be without this giant among men?

Very sad and scary. I've been thinking about it quite a bit since I heard about it. I'm grateful my children are safe right now and mourn for the families, especially the mothers, and their losses...

And the dads too.

Yes. 9/11, though tragic, certainly will serve the greater good in God's plan over time. I'm not sure how President Obama serves God's plan but He knows what He is doing. And the Holocaust, though again tragic, apparently is part of the long-term plan as well. Look what the Holocaust did over the long-term for Jews, homosexuals and gypsies. They all benefited.

When you look at these and other "tragedies" look at the aftermath that results from the event. When evaluating terrible events that humans cause (for example genocide, an election won by non-citizens, or using rape as a tool of war) or natural occurances (tornadoes, typhoons or pandemic diseases) take a look at what happens afterwards. Usually something good and THAT is part of God's planning. He thinks long term and big picture. We look at things through a faulty prism that is influenced by emotions, compassion and ignorance.

In this case Haiti will ultimately benefit from this earthquake.

For an alt you aren't totally stupid. Yes, President Obama is one of God's many gifts. For that we should do a prayer of thanks. I have and I hope everyone else who is part of God's house does so as well.

We are all part of God's house, but some of us are stuck behind the organ pipes.

If you believe that then whats the point of opposing Obama then? Hell whats the point of doing anything? Won't God just do whatever for you then?

Really? You actually believe that? The Roma population of Europe was nearly wiped out. We don't even know how many people died but it was probably close to a million... maybe more. See the Germans didn't keep good records of that. Many people were killed on the spot by the way. My girlfriend has gone to Hungary and Romania and Serbia looking for lost family and they still don't know what happened to everyone.

And for what? The Gypsies have NEVER recieved any reparations for the Porrajmos. There is NO Gypsy homeland and the Romany people are still one of the most oppressed and marginalized groups in Europe and the Middle East today. There are NEO NAZIS still targetting Gypsies in Russia and the Ukraine. The Gypsies suffered under the Soviet Union... Remember Chernobyl? It hit Gypsy communities especially hard. And then there was the breakup of Yugoslavia? Do you remember that?

Maybe you should look up Szczurowa...

Really? So why is Black Water... oh I'm sorry "Xe" still in Iraq? Why is North Korea still a dictatorship? Why is there still poverty and genocide in this world?

In this case Haiti will ultimately benefit from this earthquake.

Haiti will rebuild but people will still be trapped in a cycle of poverty and dictatorships.

No, we had Special Forces personnel vaccinating dogs in Haiti.

Ridiculous.

Could have been worse I guess. Govt could have been paying millions to "private contractors" to do it.

I suspect we'll see worse under Obama.
