I think the movie is a really great small movie that had so much going on it really demands several viewings. But I read the book after having seen the movie so the usual disappointment was avoided. But I agree, it would be interesting to see a movie faithful to the book.

And yes, the battle suits were great in the book. I still see him bouncing around and crashing into shit. And I think the "tubes" they shoot down to "fast rope" to the planets was a very cool idea.

you guys are weird. i still don't like that movie and it has nothing to do with the book (which was okay even though i disagree with a lot of what heinlein was trying to say in it), but instead is has to do with the fact that the cast was horrible. i fucking hate denise richards. even doogie sucked.
