That Was Then, This Is Now

When I was very young (teens early 20's) didn't really know about D/s as lifestyle, no internet etc. but I knew what I liked and did what I liked and didn't really care what anyone thought about it. Once I got into my late 20's, got married etc. all kinds of social pressures prevented me from expressing my D side. Then I hit my early 40's and finally felt comfortable enough to express myself and my feelings with My wife. Neither of us is fulltime anything, but whenever I feel the desire (or she does) we play out our fantasies and have a great time doing it!

After getting my ass chewed up about proclaiming the hopelessness of the situation I started a mad man search on fet life, contacting everyone under 28 and within a 15 miles radius. So far I must have contacted at least 100 people no matter if they look interesting or not, about 10 responded to my interest in meeting, and so far I have met with 1. It's all extremely artificial, so you don't know what you get till you actually meet, like the person I met with, didn't click, not enemys but not buddy either.

So I think that's the nature of the beast, work you ass of for a shot in the dark. Maybe you'll get luck and make a friend.

My wife and I didn't have a word for it back in our early 20's but we play rough and did a lot of experimenting.

I have to laugh about it when I think back to how innocent our experimenting was, watching her pee, then moving in into peeing in pans for entertainment... a little grabbing here and there, a prod back there... lol.

I guess it evolved naturally, and some of the fantasy from over 10 years ago(shit it might be getting closer to 20 years) are just beginning to be realized, since now we have words for the types of play and real information about how to do them safely.

So in that manner early on we both where aware of tendencies and experimentation. However, I believe had either one of us pulled out a BDSM manual the other one would have retreated quickly. Even now we work slowly into things, sometime painfully slow and sometime not so.

I'd say that I was lucky to make a friend, that turned in to romantic relationship, that we married, and now we 'play' and grow together...

I guess there is somewhat of a personal philosophy not to force anything but to coax it along gently and not focus on outcomes.

As Etoile said, TNG (The Next Generation) groups are springing up all over the place. Most are restricted to an age range of 18 - 35 or 18 - 39. Some are 21 and up but most TNG groups are 18+.

There are TNG groups and other organizations all over the country. You just have to look.

If you are in NJ, why not come over to NY and get involved with NYC TNG, or TES TNG, or the TES Novice Group? Or maybe its easier for you to get to CT, where there is The Society (21+) and also a new group which is called (I believe) Connecticut's Young and Kinky, which is a TNG group. There may even be a local NJ group that I don't know about. Look!

The internet has been a big help on this. I'm 26 now, my sub is 27, realized I was kinky at 22, went to a munch and a play party at 23.

The TNG groups can be a great resource to meet people, and not even as play partners, but as other people you can talk with about BDSM, and be friends in general. I found my sub on FetLife after she posted in a TNG group about being new in town and wanting to meet a few people.
