my nose is definetly on overdrive when it comes to odors these last few weeks and unfortunately I can't stand my SO's breath or normal body smell. It's been a couple of weeks since we've had sex but i can't stand to be near my SO. He'll brush his teeth and take a bath but within a few minutes I can smell him again and I wanna barf. hoping this will wear off as the morning (all day) sickness wears off too (crossing my fingers for about another month or so). any one else go thru this fun bit of pregnancy and if so was there anything you found that let you enjoy sex with your SO. Thanks.

Oh, yeah. I also wouldn't kiss if he'd gone down on me cause the smell grossed me out. The joys of pregnancy, and all that.

awwww. sorry that it's rough for you.

the oversensitive nose is, i'm afraid, permanent. i'd suggest dietary changes if he habitually eats spicy or fatty food. possibly a change to his anti persperant as well to something more natural. on the breath front, mints, lots of them. sex in the shower or bath was great cos all i could smell was the soap. i can also recommend a couple of drops of eucalyptus somewhere in the room. it'll negate any "offensive" smells without activating the nausea. if even that fails, stick to spooning or doggy. then your nose isn't anywhere near his body.

on the nausea front, try a couple of plain dry crackers or toast and a glass of water before you get out of bed every morning and again before you go to bed at night. also, ginger is very good at reducing nausea. ginger tea worked well throughout my pregnancy. you should be able to find some at your local supermarket.

good luck.

God yes, it was horrible! With my first pregnancy we were both in the Army and I would nearly puke when we both came home after PT to shower and change.

However, that first trimester made my so sex crazed I would have mounted him had he smelled like camel dung LOL

oh, and chew some dried ginger or payaya seeds..that can help. Oooo a new baby, how exciting....baby fever....good thing I am "fixed."...

I've noticed, even now when I'm not preggers, that K smells bad when he's dehydrated or been drinking alcohol, and it doesn't matter what he does. He can shower, and brush his teeth, and he still reeks. I've also noticed that I'm the only one who notices. Maybe your SO is dehydrated or something similar. I'd suggest drinking more water and/or something with anti-oxidants.

That's how I was with my first pregnancy! The other two I was so sick that just day to day stuff was too much, but with the first one . . . MY WORD!

I say that all the time. My sister has an 18 month old, and when he snuggles up to me or gives me kisses . . .

Luckily, when I was thinking with my brain and not my hormones, I had that little problem taken care of. :D

Try having him drink lots of water and eat a lot of citrus fruit. Both can help the aroma problem...and make him taste better!
