From IMDB:
Earth's population has been decimated by a virus, related to the mad cow disease, that turns everyone into flesh-craving zombies. Only a handful of humans remain, including Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), a student trying to make his way home to Columbus, OH, where he hopes his parents are still alive. Columbus has long been an outsider and somewhat phobic, which he uses to his advantage in avoiding zombies. In fact, zombies are not his greatest fear: clowns are.
While walking down the highway, he encounters Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), driving an Escalade (with a damn cow-catcher on the front - cracked me up). When they stop at a grocery store in hopes of finding Tallahassee's coveted Twinkies (the great Twinkie hunt is a recurring theme), they fight off three zombies then find two teenage girls, Wichita (Emma Stone) and her younger sister Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) in the store room.
Mine: The girls scam the guys out of their weapons and their vehicle, and the chase begins.
Columbus has all kinds of useful rules that keep helpfully appearing on the screen, such as Rule # 2: The Double Tap, and Rule #3: Beware of Bathrooms...the timing of these rules gave me the giggles.
Bill Murrary makes an appearance as a non-zombie when the four invade his house, but he ends up having an unfortunate accident (I won't spoil it, but it's funny).
Woody Harrelson is at his redneck/kick-ass best, and has the best lines, and (to me) the best scenes in the movie. The roller-coaster shooting gallery is fucking hilarious.
The ongoing "zombie kill of the week" discussion is funny as shit, and even better once you see who wins it.
It was my nine-year-old that wanted to see it, and he wasn't the least bit grossed out or scared by anything in it. Mama was a tad grossed out a few times, but it's nothing all that bad, and it's over quick.
Very, very funny flick. See it.
