Not if he actually said that to her - even if he was lying, that would pretty much get you shot anywhere I think.

Yes. Absolutely.

She should have gone to the authorities with her charges. We have rule of law to deal with these things, not vigilante justice.

As the judge I would have been sympathetic in the sentencing, but killing a person is murder, regardless of motive.

In an unrelated incident, I know a man that got 1 year of house arrest. Basically only able to leave his house 1 day a week, for 4 hrs total. He was in his late 60's & the judge figured he would die soon anyways. Fucker lived 15 yrs.
If you tell a mother you did anything to her child, you can expect that primal instinct will take over.

Justified Homicide, around here folks get shot for a lot of reasons.

Yeah, I call that suicide by mother.

Tough one. You have to be sympathetic towards the mother's emotions, yet there is a rule of law. I guess that's why judges have a large range of punishments. Poor little girl. :(

I wonder if the contributors to this thread appreciate the double meaning of your comment?

God and I put "it" out there and almost everyone ignores "its" simple wisdom and utility.

If that had happened over here in the UK, she'd have got a few years at a fairly easy prison and maybe early parole.

The cops and lawyers are always more excited about the lost business than they are about what the assholes did. The mother killed the bastard almost 10 years ago, and we're still playing with it.

What needs to happen is every mother of every sex abuse victim should kill the asshole and clog the courts with murder trials for a century.

Sometime about the mid 1700s, in and around Halifax, West Yorkshire, they had a penalty system almost exactly like that. If convicted, the executioner was the one who suffered as a result of the crime (like the parent of a murdered child, etc.).
I think it was part of the old Danelaw (Ingfangthief ?)
