I just wanted to let everyone know that my new Dyson vacuum cleaner is the most awesome household item I have ever purchased. I'd read about them in the past but until yesterday I had always been a skeptic. Over the past 20 years I've owned perhaps 4 different vacuums until buying this one. I got it from Overstock.com, it was reconditioned and half the price of a new one. I'm in love again, and my floors are thanking me. I am so embarrassed over how much dirt came out of the carpets last night, it's nearly unbelievable!

Do you enjoy sucking in the nude?

I have a small Dirt Devil that meets my needs. I think I've heard of Dysons and they're pretty reputable as good vacuums.

I had a wonderful Dyson, then the Kirby salesman came by one day while I was at school and my darling (sarcastic) bf bought a Kirby and traded our vaccuum for $100. I was not happy when I got home.

I got one when they first came out and I still love mine. I thought it was a lot for a vacuum at the time but it's been worth every penny.

I got one when they first came out and I still love mine. I thought it was a lot for a vacuum at the time but it's been worth every penny.

It really does suck, in a good way though!

I used to have a Hoover vacuum cleaner which I always hated - it used to clog up at every opportunity, due to having two right angled bends in the path from the beater head to the dust bag. A complete triumph of style over sensible design; I was continually having to repair the thing. The day after my mother died when I was trying to tidy up the house for the wake, it broke down again. I kicked it round the house, deliberately smashed it, drove out to the municipal dump, hurled it into a skip, drove down into the town and bought a Dyson. Most cathartic.

I've still got that original Dyson but it's suffered a bit from cleaning up builders' rubble and cleaning out chimneys over the intervening years, so I have a nice new one for everyday use.
