Name Change for our Planet?

Always wondered who got to name our planet, Earth. All it conjures up is dirt. Why didn't we get a cool name like Venus, or Mars, or Saturn or some other God name, or the like. If we could change it, what would you like it to be called and what would our inhabitants be called.
eg: Earth=Earthlings

Take your pick. Every language has it's own word for our own private dirtball in space.

Almost every language equates the planet with dirt/land, just almost every language's word for the native speakers of that language means "people."

we may be associated with it, but it's not what we're made of. We are made from carbon, amino acids, amongst others, and a little electrical activity to get it all going. So belonging to something we aren't akin to is misleading. We stand on Terra Firma and we may be buried in it when we die, but made from it we're not.
