Are women more sensitive?

STELLA and SAFE BET are LITs demented aunts locked in the attic.

Try QUARREL instead of ARGUMENT. You fuck up the language when you make it up as you go. Fill those empty brain cells with a larger vocabulary! If you understood what AMICUS posted you wouldnt resort to name-calling & discounting.

SR71PLT is okay.

If one wants to understand what Amicus posts, one needs to know what question he is answering, not the one that was asked.

Yes, I've seen one thread like that. As long as they are talking among themselves and using up all their own time/energy on emptyness like that, who cares? I just don't do more than scan it when I'm in the mood to look into the sandbox and then just walk away--which is the same thing you and anyone else could do.

This was/is your basic problem, Stella. You can't just let them rail and rant in their corner--you have to control what they--what we all--can post.

It's been a much calmer place here across the board without a self-appointed schoolmarm.

sr71,

You know I usually agree with you, but what you describe is a one party system. It's a public forum. The word public is in there for a reason. It's like the government, and how it was supposed to be set up - open to all. The simple fact that Stella went in and disagreed is what caused the uproar; not her controlling, but her expressing an opinion that disagreed with others. JBJ does this constantly. The difference, from what I've seen, is that JBJ doesn't give a shit. In fact, he revels in it! (Which, by the way, I find incredibly amusing. :D )

I should point out that I've only been here five months, but that's my observation so far. Take it with a grain of salt.

You don't agree that ami and jbj and desert p and others of that ilk have as much right to post here as Stella does and that the best response if you don't like what anyone posts is just to refrain from reading them and responding to them rather than campaign to rule them out of existence?

If you do agree with this, I don't know what you are arguing with me about.

But the, Dold Diesel is saying I don't have a right to contribute to the discussion on this, so I'll just back out.

Ha! The new people here don't know how that story came about. We'll keep it to ourselves. <Wink> ;)

Aww. JJ,come on, spill it please. I'll keep it secret. Promise. *crosses fingers behind back* Okay. Really. I won't tell anyone.

Sure I can. :D

Men are generally scum sucking pigs. :caning:

Women, on the other hand, are beautiful, kind, loving and general all around goddesses. :rose: :rose: :rose:

(That is, of course, unless you are some kind of woman hating asshat = Hi SR!)

Hey, Safe. I, for one, got your :D and your :caning: gave my :D a minor case of wood.

I don't visit very often, but I'm seeing people fall back on old (bad) habits, which is saddening.

As for the OP, the truth's already been stated in many ways, so there's really nothing more (constructive) to add.

Its like tossing a ball back and forth; the one who drops the ball always blames the one who threw it. I've never known AMICUS to stumble or toss a bad ball. And their are plenty here for whom every breath they take is a novel experience to them.

So since when is anyone obligated to give you an answer you expect and demand? Its hardly debate, its confirmation.

Why are you saying I don't agree that others get to post? I just stated that I like to JBJ go on his rants. The fact that I disagree with much of what they have to say is moot. They have every right to post their views, just as I have a right to a rebuttal.

I simply stated that people get pissed because Stella happens to express her views the same way a mother bear would - and that's what causes the commotion. Not the fact she tries to control, but the fact that she disagrees vehemently.

PENANDPAPER

Youre full of more shit than Santas workshop a week before Christmas,.

Well, no, I don't agree with this.

And if she just disagrees vehemently, shouldn't Cold Diesel be telling her she has no right to be posting here?

You see, it's stuff like this that you couldn't make up. It's funny and brilliant. It made me laugh out loud (much more so than Know-It-All which I happen to be reading right now). It's good writing, golden shit as my grandfather used to put it. :)

The answer to your question is, that in my short time here, I may not have had the experiences all of you may have had. Therefore, I assume your experience outweighs my short time observing, and the answer would be yes.

So, from what I've read between all the members here, the women do seem more sensitive than the men, although the men seem to show thier sensitivity in an aggressive manner. The women seem to want a settlement and a peaceful resolution. Everyone go back to the beginning and read the difference in responses and see for yourself. It's been an interesting exchange between everyone and how they have re-acted.

Well, yes, those are the sweeping generalizations that have been opined.

Actually, those are the observations that lance has made from the empirical data within this thread.

As he says in the post you quoted.

Pen and Paper, you are right, I cause uproar merely by the fact of my disagreeing. So many people seem to think that freedom of speech means that everyone must agree with or at least tolerate whatever comes out of their mouths, and they are always shocked to find that's not so.

But I don't think I use a Mother Bear style, because Mother Bears merely roar real loud. I offer examples and reasons for my disagreements.

I think it's because I can back up my statement that something is wrong, with explanations of why I think it's wrong, and I usually do. Either someone can come up with a counter-argument, or they can weakly say that their un-thought-out opinion is just as legitimate as my reasons are.

So I look like a bully, because I don't leave any nice little wiggle room-- not if I can help it.

In the context of this thread, my opinions are always about sensitivity, too-- I insensitively demand that people be more sensitive... :D

And here comes srplt to have another word, I'm sure.

Try not to be so sensitive.

I write and sell a lot of epigrams of my own pithy thoughts. I also have fun writing sex scenes using similies I create.

Which leads me to think we should show an understanding sensitivity towards each other and not judge from the side of the fence we sit on.
