You have to read the comments

I read down a bit and the commenters who called out the sheep seemed to be the only ones with half a brain. I'm not American so I don't know how things work with the pledge in schools, but I know here in Canada when they used to allow prayer in class they would allow those that didn't follow the belief (muslims, the jewish children...myself) to leave for the prayer. I'm not sure I like the idea of kids being permitted knifes in school for their religion (as a safety issue) but that girl had no right to come down on the other girl for her beliefs. And who is she to say the other girl was not proud to be an American? Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't American's allowed to have any belief they want, and be free from persecussion for it?

Free speech my ass. I agree with the bigot remark.

Oh and these stories were posted on two days.
I read down. Not all the comments were absurd. The ones that kept saying "I agree with her 100%!" were ridiculous.

They insist this girl had a right to "Free Speech" meaning, in this case, to harass and verbally abuse someone who wasn't doing anything to her, but these 100% agreers also feel like the girl being harassed had no right to wear the headdress she was wearing? Or remain seated for the pledge? Or go to school and remain unharassed?

I do love people who will fight to the death for their own rights--and turn right around and deny those same rights to anyone who doesn't believe exactly what they believe.

There are 100 morons born every day, 3, for evey 1 born with comon sense.

I just read the second article. People seem more reasonable. It's sick what people do for attention. Even sicker when others condone it.
