Has anybody mentioned the fact that this is the anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment and is designated as National Women's Equality Day?

Personally, I am staunchly in favor of gender equality. In my stories, women are at least as likely to be the sexual aggressors, and enjoy themselves just as much as the men do, probably even more.

I am strongly in favor of gender equality in all aspects of life, including social and professional. I believe that women and girls should have neither more nor less of the privileges and responsibilities of their male counterparts.

Are you sure the women are willing to give up that much power on even the one day? :D

What do you mean one day? This is the day when women and men are supposed to strive for permanent and total equality between the genders, in all things, in responsibility and privilege and income and rights and police protection and financial and social status and sentencing guidelines and insurance costs and everything else.

Personally, I believe most women would rather not have equality in ALL things.

My late wife had a sign in the kitchen:

"Women who seek equality lack ambition"

Poor BOX.

No one with a cup of live brain cells takes women seriously. God gave them the sole power of creation so men wouldnt kill them and eat them.

I'd tell you what I meant (again), but I'm afraid that too would go over your head. ;)

Well, judging from what I quoted earlier:

You are implying that most women recognize they are better off than men, and wouldn't want that changed, even for one day. I am agreeing with you, but in a more sarcastic way.

Anyone who actually thinks that equality exists needs to go back and re-read the definition of equality.

Well, as with most issues, if all sides consider that the other side(s) have a bigger slice of the pie than they do, the system is probably in equilibrium--since everyone is basically self-centered.

Christ! JBJ, you energized a healthy guffaw on my part! You are a bad man, you are, you are....;)

There's some equality but not enough in my opinion. I am a fan of the "different but equal" model. I don't want to be a man, I just want equal social power to the average white male aged between 25-45.
