Are we on the air?

Several times yesterday I was the only person signed in to any Lit forum.

But I couldn't post anything.

No readers and no capacity to write - frustrating.

PS. The General Board showed that no messages had been posted for over 4 hours. Is that a record?

One of the last post was Kimmie on the Last forum at 5:26 am yesterday. (est) I posted a few jokes and they never showed. (They did this morning) I went to the forum boards and they were all down. Around 11:00 last night I gave up trying. Happy to see it's back up.

I do believe it is working now.

And I too was very suspicious of threads that I had read hours ago being intermingled with threads that I hadn't read at all. that doesn't normally happen on this board. I wanted new posts to react to, and I wasn't finding them.

They are back though! Woohoo! :D

Wasn't it terrible? I sometimes don't check in for a few days, but now I felt positively isolated. Worse, I posted without reading, thought to edit once I submit, then the post just disappeared. I kept checking all day when and where it would materialize!

Don't ya hate it when someone kicks the plug out of the wall.

Hey, don't look at me. Hamsters are not on the South Beach diet and I haven't touched one in a week.

Did someone forget to put a shilling in the meter ?
or

Perhaps we should have a larger wheel and put a bear in it ?.
(or a horse?)

I felt rather like Burgess Meredith wandering around here. I was the only current user listed on the entire forum. Fortunately my glasses didn't break during the crash.

tell me how you did it please.
I know a dragon that needs a mass adjustment.

When I was told that I'd become diabetic, I started reducing all sugars and alcohol. Then, when I told my ophthalmologist, he got all over my case, as he frequently does. He's exactly one month older than I am so he figures he can push me around. :D However, every time I come down with some 'fact of aging' physical thing, he's already been there ahead of me and knows what to do. "Get the South Beach Diet" quoth he. So I did. Amazing.

South Beach Diet?

Bearded clams steamed in their own sauce, eaten three times a day. Now there would be my kind of diet.:D

What is it about this place that every conversation either turns to sex or food?

Your sparkly bubble must have reactivated the servers. :D

Nice to see I wasn't losing my mind yesterday and it's not my new computer!

Also, very nice to see this place is still the same. Food. Sex. Not necessarily in that order.

Wine? :) I have a nice chianti languishing in want of just the right meal. Is there anything in South Beach that goes with it?

Red wine is recommended after the initial two weeks. It's good for you. Beer, unfortunately, contains maltodextrin, a very high potency sugar. It's bad for you, leading to the eponymous 'beer belly'. I got one and it's going! However, the red wine will have to wait. Right now, it's decaf, water or tea. I'll stick to water after the morning cuppa.

For the first two weeks, no sugars or carbohydrates of any kind. In the second stage, carbs are allowed, so long as they are not highly processed. No sweat, there, I love brown rice and whole grain pasta/bread/crepes, etc.

On the other hand, I'm eating five meals a day and am allowed dessert after dinner, everyday.

It could be far worse . . . ;)
