Otherwise, make Google your bitch and do some searches for munches/other groups in your area. Something will turn up.

I would look online for munches in your area. I don't know what the state of BDSM is like overseas, but its very possible that there are established BDSM groups (that organize munches and classes and events) over there the same way there are here. Like Lizzie said, check it all out on gogle, you never know what you might find.

I think what the OP meant was that for someone in a foreign country, where chances are high you don't speak the language, it's very difficult to seek out and get involved in the local BDSM community, especially if you're new to the whole thing in general. Think about it, if you're completely out of your comfort zone AND learning something new, it's more difficult to figure out exactly how to go about doing it. Posting online is a good option to start with to learn more about what's available locally before taking it real life, in my opinion.

And if he's "stationed" there that likely makes him a military or diplomatic corps person -- with the attendant security risks to him and his career.
