entertain me or I will write mean things.

Uhm...meaner things.

Me, too.

I was dumb and said I'd get up at 8:30 to watch the garage sale.

I should have said I wouldn't open up until 10. There's no one here.

I was bored this morning, so I went to Walmart. That worked for a while, but when I got home, I was bored again. I was so bored I fell asleep.

About an hour or so later, I woke up and was still bored. I'm bored right now, but I've got a friend coming from out of town and we're going to go be less bored. He's going to buy some ammo loading stuff and we'll walk around this big hunting and fishing store for a while. It's big and air-conditioned. Woo Hoo!

There's a restaurant upstairs in this store that has wild game dishes, and we might eat up there. He said he wants to try some bison. I was hoping to eat some Chinese, so we might do that.

If not, I'm going to get some take out, once he goes home. That way, I won't be so bored tonight. I'll be eating cool Chinese food all evening and watching movies on TV.

Well, right now, I think I'm going to take a shower and wake up. This being bored can get to ya, if you let it. Gotta get to doing something so it doesn't suck me in.

Hey, gracie...sold anything at the garage sale? Is this sale in your garage, or on your front lawn? Dangest thing, in my part of the country. They started out being in the garage, but now they just spead everything out on the front lawn. It's so white trash but also Americana. Saturday, people keep from getting bored by garage sale-ing.:D

Me too! And my tummy hurts. *pouts* I've got to get up the gumption to drag my butt out of bed and go somewhere. (I worked midnights last night).

I wish I was closer to you gracie. I love yard sales!

Went to the nursing store, bought a new sphygmomanometer. It's cute it has frogs on it. The went to the video store and rented movies and got popcorn for a family night.

Clothes, books, toys, playstation stuff.

I went yard/garage sale-ing today for about three hours and 30 miles, lol. Ended up with not much today - a little mini-food processor, about a dozen paperback books, a DVD player for $3 that, if it works, we'll ship down to a preacher friend (and his wife) of mom's in Florida. Yesterday, about 2 hours yard sale-ing, but a decent haul overall - a Dremel-type tool with about 40 or so attachments and a nice aluminum case; a 14-piece home haircutting set, a few more books (hardbacks).

I love yard sale-ing. As I look around my living quarters, I see my 'executive' desk - 36" x 60", solid wood, veneered top, $30; refurbished but never taken out of the box by the previous owner HP Photosmart 8450 printer ($15); entertainment center, 54" high x 60" wide, $20 in the box; stereo receiver/amp, 180 watts per channel output, $10; Sony 5-disc CD changer, $5; Kenwood 200W tower speakers (12" woofers, 6" mids), $20; anal-bead lamps (pic at bottom of this post), $5 for the pair; and hundreds of books purchased for as little as $0.10 to $2.00 each, the vast majority hardbacks. There's more but my neck is getting tired of swiveling to look around.

Yard sale-ing was even better in Tampa when I lived there. I had a laminated map of South Tampa (where we lived), and early Saturday morning would go through the yard sale ads, marking all those from near Kennedy Boulevard (the n-s divider) to MacDill AFB (south end of the peninsula) on the map with a marker, then plot out a route that ended up being more or less a "great circle" route around the entire area. From February well into December, we seldom hit fewer than 20 or so, and often more than 30 between 8 a.m. and noon or so.

It started out on my back porch, cause weather reports said rain, but when the sun came out we moved it to the front yard.

I love garage sales/freecyle/craigslist. I can't think of anything in my house I've bought brand new. Why, when you can get good quality stuff for cheaper. My entertainment center is mahogany, we got it in payment for some work K did on my cousins house. My solid wood desk I got through freecycle. My dining room table and chairs? The old set we bought for $50 dollars, the new set I paid 100 for from a neighbor. Our captains bed was $150 dollars, and our dressers were $100 for the set (all solid wood). Got the kids bunk beds for $150 via craigslist. Etc.

I prefer driving to flying but then again I love to look. Even the drives I make over and over I still find myself looking and finding new things in the landscape. (at self)

I am. But sometimes it's cheaper to drive to Seattle than fly out of PDX.
Ahhh... just as it could cheaper at the other end, to drive to and fly out of Cinci rather than Columbus.

So... Cinci to SeaTac... hmmm....

Yikes! $848 - $1098!

And Columbus to SeaTac, $661 - $808. So Cinci to Portland is cheapest. Nyahhh! :p

<chuckle>
