thank god they're still talking about michael jackson's death on entertainment tonight. it's been over a month now... I dunno what I'd do if I couldn't hear about it every fucking night.

btw... blanket?!? wtf! poor rich little bastard.

Sometimes all you need are good friends, good food and a night full of laughter. And tonight...all three.*sigh*

Does life necessarily have to get better? I mean, I'd love to believe that, but it's not been proven empirically. It's lovely to think that things are always progressing towards a more perfect state, but it isn't necessarily true with people, so it doesn't follow that it would have to be true for life...

And does it matter? I mean, should we all just accept the fact that sometimes life is shit and you don't get what you want? Would we be happier if we stopped desiring a better life that cannot be achieved?

*shrugs* Sorry if I'm getting a little too philosophical for a pre-lunch time...

I have to fucking hope that life gets better. If this is all there is, well, I strongly desire a refund.

I'm trying to practice something I discovered as "the middle way"--somewhere in between always desiring for something better and always being apathetic. I haven't actually gotten there yet--I'll be sure to report when I do. :D

What kind of a conversation is this? I'm assuming you want to talk to me, but you're not really talking to me............

OH SHIT! You're trying to BLAME me for the old guy sending you home with two bottles of that???? Oh hell, I'll claim responsibility for it! I've made an art form out of stroking egos to get spoiled rotten!

That Peach Melomel was heaven. I just wish he'd have let me open the cyser!

You're tired Doll, nothing more. It will all look a lot better after you've rested. I know rest isn't in your schedule right now, but hang in there. Life is good. :rose:

Is there a porn version of the Twilight Zone? Because I feel like I'm living in it. What an odd week. Thankfully there were a few highlights ;). Now if the rest would just stop bothering me...

The Buddhists (and to some extent the Stoics) advocate for desiring what you have and nothing more. Desire is the source of all suffering, so I try to keep my mind on things I can have... it ain't easy- it's a lifetime of work

Life can be good- it isn't always. Rest would go a long way to making things better- yesterday was a fantastic day, and not the least of which because I had slept well. But, rest isn't in the schedule... it makes tolerating the other nonsense difficult

Does being that slimey make it easier for you to walk? Do you constantly have to clean everything you own to remove the residue of slime you leave behind or do you just revel in your cheating and lies.

I wonder, does the slime secrete from your ass?

Thank you bisolom for being a good man. This was exactly what good men should do...talk people off the roof.
