The Summer Lovin’ contest may seem a long way away, and I usually get moans about starting these threads too soon but immediately after the last contest can be when inspiration strikes - or not. Motivation may be lacking now but get your mind thinking about how to get your characters hot and sexy - now, not in the last few days before the contest begins. For those in the Southern Hemisphere, use your memory or imagination for the Summer season.

As before, this thread is to encourage authors to write and enter, to support them when the muses fly away, to sympathise when trolls attack, and to shamelessly beg for votes.

For anyone who hasn't entered a themed Literotica contest before:

The advantages are that once you enter, your entry and all your writing gets more attention, votes, feedback and PCs than it would otherwise get. You also get support from members of the Author's Hangout.

The disadvantages are that you will also attract unwelcome attention from trolls and unenlightened critics. The sweeps of duplicated and illegal votes can cause heartbreak. You will probably curse the marking systems and fail to understand how they could possibly have done that to you. It can be a bumpy ride. If you really want your writing to improve, critics will be a factor. Entering a themed Literotica contest is one of the easier ways to get noticed.

If in doubt, go for it. You have nothing to lose but your virginity, and if you haven't lost it yet, what are you doing here?

Having been here for a while and mostly avoided trolls, I'm a little intimidated to post something to a contest. I have an idea for this one that is hot (to me at least) but I don't know if I have the fortitude to endure being ripped to shreds for no reason other than I submitted my story to a contest.

I don't know. I think I'm too chicken.

I just don't wanna attract the trolls, yano? I live in such a world of little to no troll-dom with my writing, which I know is rare. I'd like to keep it that way.

We'll see if I end up writing the story. If I love it, I might stick my neck out there. I'm in a weird place where I haven't got anything "mostly" done to submit right now. So I better get my fingers and my imagination going.

I've never had a troll attack a contest entry. I've only had about two send me nasty emails and that was back in the beginning. I think it may have been someone afraid of competition. *nods sagely* Just stay out of the Loving Wives category and you should be fine.

Don't worry. I couldn't write in 1/2 the categories on this site. Some things just don't turn me on. I find infidelity to be a total mood killer, so you won't find me writing in LW anyway.

Personally, I will be entering this contest also. In the Nude Day Contest, my entries were strictly E/V with no sex, and they were panned. I am going to write of an orgy for this one, with dozens of individual sex acts among the many participants.

I find that hard to believe. I believe contest entries are their primary target.

You got me counting how many categories I've wrote in. I counted 14.
LW - 64 Rom - 50 Erotic Coup. - 29 Non-erotic - 22 Humor - 8 Non- consent - 5 Interracial - 5 and 12 divided among the other categories. Of course some of these stories were chapter but even then in different categories.

I could be off a story or two. haha kept losing track. I just noticed, no non-human. Of course like most stories they could be put in different categories, just tried to find the closest one that fit the story.

Congrats, I would not have a clue what to write for a couple of those categories. In fact some of them I've never read a story in them. Probably should but they don't hold my interest. Getting too old.

E - I have no story for this contest, so if you'd like me to post yours under my name, I'd be honored (perhaps with an author's note alluding to, but not revealing, the true origin of the story.) I already have a troll story posted, so I have nothing to lose. And, anti-business liberal that I am, if you win, I'll send you the money without skimming an agent's fee off the top!

18 categories for me across all three pen names. Have basic outlines for stories in three other categories that I've never really hit hard because I feel obligated to use what little motivation to write I have on continuing storylines.

No inspriation whatsoever for this contest ( not that I'm feeling inspired to do anything )

Out of a hundred stories I've hit 21 categories. I have stories started for another 4 or 5 cats. I also have one story started that I don't think there is a cat for.
