Leave us not forget the legendary Gene Krupa...who was first to work with a full drum kit and co-designed some of his own drums and cymbals. He virtually invented the 'modern' style of drumming.

Check out 'Sing, Sing, Sing' (Benny Goodmans' orch.) and 'Drum Boogie' (Genes' own band) for some excellent drum solos.
