Just been watching QI on BBC TV and this subject came up......Mike The Headless Chicken......and there's a web site.

I didn't believe it, but see for yourself!

Hence the old expression "Running around like a chicken with it's head cut off".

Chickens only use their brains to keep their head from collapsing, anyway. Turkeys are even more brainless, if that's possible. If they're caught out in the rain they'll drown looking up to see where the water's coming from.
