The Eurovision thread

I missed the beginning. SO far I've only seen a colorful Portugal and a pretty Icelandic dress.

Come ON, people! Where's our annual mud-flinging?:)

lol! The Sewdish commentaries thanked the 12-year-old boy who lend out his T-shirt to the lead singer.:D

The Armenian girl is really talented - it's not EASY to sing a completely different melody than what the orchestra is playing.

Russia....

strange, I thought I read that it was for GERMANY that Dita von Teese was going to participate?

So, what do I think about thie year's contest?

-Well, it's not too bad, atleast people are fully dressed, unlike that spectacle in Greece a few years ago.

Not too many weirdos this year. Last years' participants were funnier, hanging laundry on stage and whatnot...

-Yeah, but they got weeded out in the preliminaries. I liked the guy with the weird hair who sang about shoes.

*Svenskaflicka talking to herself since no-one else seems interested in this thread*

Some of us needed a reminder.

Russia should have considered investing in a costume. Azerbaijan is nice, but she looks a little bionic with the gold leg.

I've just tuned in and it was...well, eurovision. drummer girls in cream and a big red flag. nice.

Hurrah! People!

I like Moldavia - it's upbeat and colorful, and the title is hilarious in Swedish: Hora Din Moldovia == Whore Yours Moldovia.:D

I love the Moldovian ladies skirt, it's lovely! Not sure I could pull it off though.

Estonia lady is looking at me with murder in her eyes! Scary lady+ classical instrument doesn't make her any less scary.

It's a funny fact that whatever charcteristics the winner of the contest has; group-dancing, violin playing, lesbians, whathaveyou; the following year you'll see a lot of participants imitating that. This year we have a lot of violin players, since the Russian skated and played violin last year.

You'd think they'd understand that what wins ONE year won't be as popular one year later - the lightning doesn't hit the same place twice, sort of thing.

Denmark's nice and dance-friendly. Not something that will win, but you can just bet we'll hear it a lot on the radio and in the dance places this summer.
