Playing with wax

Any tips and advice for this?

Basic safety includes using plain white candles with no scent additives. Avoid beeswax and hard candles because they have a higher melting temp and can burn. Colored and scented candles can also have higher melting points, so be careful.

Test temperature on yourself before doing it to someone else.

Avoid the face and hair--taking wax out of hair is messy and potentially painful, whether on head or body!

Varying the heat and cold (using hot wax and ice) makes the sensations more intense.

Um.....that's all I can think of to start with.

The closer the candle is to the body the hotter the wax. Hold it further away and the wax has time to cool a bit.

Wow thank you both so much. I know my Master wants to do this real soon and all I have is coloured scented candles and I had absolutely no clue they were unsuitable

This colored candle just burned a little bit, a little bit of pain involved is the whole point of wax play I believe. White candle wax doesn't show up as nicely as colored...test the candle wax on the top of you foot 1st.

Generally, the cheaper candles are safer. Try it out on your own thigh before you go dripping on someone else. Then you can see how close is too close. And remember that women are a little more sensitive than men. Male skin is 20% thicker.

Adakgirl, are you referring to 'burn' as in sensation, or as a 1st degree burn?

LOL

Thanks again everyone.

I am very nervous about trying this one, but I do want to try it.
