Obama Says America is Not a Christian Nation…

I'd rather listen to you and Cloudy profess your love...it brings far more interesting images to the movie screen in my mind...
lol :kiss:
Well, make a thread, Bel, this is not the space. Oh I will, it sounds like fun!

But here you are trying (again) to force all people calling themselves something into a box of disposability. It just ain't that simple--or fair, I might add.

Not fair...whose talking about fairness? Is it fair that my daughter won't let her children see us because we're not "Christian" enough? Is it "Christian" to shun those who don't believe?

I was just expressing my opinion, my experience with those that call themselves "Christians".

Now on the other hand, I have met people from all walks of life who neither declare their faith nor want you to participate in their faith, but are helpful, compassionate and loving. Those to me are the true "Christians" no matter what God they believe in.

That's a personal relationship and individual folks. That isn't the whole Christian world--or much more than small isolated parts of it.

My daughter-in-law is currently forcing Catholism on my young granddaughters--after already trying Presbyterian, Methodist, Unitarian, and Jewish. Don't talk to me about people having a screw loose and ruining grandchildren. I don't blame all Christians anywhere for that--nor do I declare that it turned me agnostic. (I'm pretty close to there on my own steam.)

The delicious part is that it wouldn't be a gaffe in Austria--just in the minds of the Sore Losers Club members.
At least he didn't throw up on the Prime Minister.

And no, I have no idea if Austria has a prime minister or not, they have something, I'm sure.

Of course you have no comment on the vast majority of this forum, 'pushing', the liberal fascist agenda of abortion, gay rights, sex education for kindergarten kids, love of Euro socialism, anti free market, anti America on thread after thread after thread?

Hey -- I'm for all those things and I'm a Christian. Not all Christians are conservative bigots.

She knows that I'm...shhhh a conservative....and that I didn't vote for the Prince.....but I like her and respect her opinions....

Some here do not respect others thoughts and opinions and that's too bad....but having different beliefs is okay....if everything was the same..say like in Socialism...it would be soooo boring....

And I've been around for over a year and I'm still breathing...hummm hope I haven't made her too upset...LOL

Like I said...I'll be good now...ummm very very good...night ya'll:kiss:

:kiss::kiss::kiss:

Of course differences in opinions are allowed - and welcomed!

I love a solid discussion.

It's the complete absence of all factual information, the loss of any intelligent debating skills, the ridiculing of the person holding the opposing viewpoint that is frowned upon. And gets some people quite pissy! ;)

There was a question?

~~~
I think so, somewhere back there...in response to the 'not a christian nation' statement by the new Prez, latest results show that 77% of all Americans claim to be Christians, that is down from 91% in 1948 as many Americans are choosing to answer, 'no religion specified' on the questionaires...
So, 77% of 300 plus million American's differ with the statement, seems like he has stepped in doodoo again...that and this 'piracy' of an American flagged vessel and his inaction, kinda shows he's not on the same page.
Blatantly incorrect.
77% call themselves christians. How many that also call the country christian, is another question.
Which you haven't adressed.
And he never will.
As was already posted on another thread, ami begins with the conclusion, then spends the rest of the thread explaining why he's correct.
Pointless.
You need to fix your quotes, dude. Elianna didn't say ANYTHING like what you quoted her as saying. What she actually said was:
Sorry. I guess I just haven't been here is a while. But I sure see a whole bunch of people sticking their tongues out at each other and calling names like two-year-olds (thus diminishing the impact of comments). Not trying to be the politeness police but... since when did some of you start with this?
Ami: your way of pushing atheisim rings the same in my ears as the right-wing Christian fundamentalists. It's not WHAT you believe in, but how manically you try to force your opinion on others that tends to discredit you. Just a flipside to the same coin you loathe, it seems.
