You're referring to Christabelli being so ill? No, it wasn't taken well, at all. But at the same time-- it wasn't trolling. It wasn't egregriously hateful, although it wasn't kind. And it involved people who cared about the community and its reactions, in a way that BFW does not. "letting the trolls win" will be, I can promise you out experience in many many forums, merely a matter of time. I just don't see why anyone's time here should feel like a matter of principle, a strike against trolls. That's not what I came here for, certainly...
Maybe a disadvantage to me, but I don't know that anyone else would consider it such.
I may still leave, but probably not. As it is, my visits here grow more and more infrequent. I'm not sure how much of that is due to things going on here in the forum, and how much is just things going on in RL.
It's not the way it used to be here, and I miss so many people that don't post anymore that it hasn't been the escape that it was for a long, long time. I'll probably be here for awhile yet, though. Maybe.

I am so glad that you asked this question. Although I have been here only a few weeks, I have been a rational person for many years. I know a troll when one jumps on my back before I have a chance to introduce myself, as Stella points out in the quote in my signature.
When a pack of RABD tell me that they have a right to gang up on me because I have nothing to say, that tips me off that they want mine or anybody's ass that looks vulnerable.
I have read King Salomon's proverbs and it would even be better if the friends of Stella would obey these proverbs instead of following me around the forum having fun at my expense. Why have you not pointed this fact out to Stella that you reap what you ...... (No use telling her anything, since she is busy throwing turds and calling people fuckards.) She has called enough people on this thread alone enough dirty names to have won the troll of the year award.
You friends of Stella, have you no common sense whatever? She is obviously a tormented person, captured in a complete narcissistic personality. You friends are supporting her to the point that she is going to believe that she really is the most important person on this forum. You defend her but you are not doing her any favors. When she learns that more people on AH dislike her and that over 1.000,000 members don't give a shit if she leaves the Lit. forum, she may kill herself. That would tagically be your fault.
Stella appears to be near the cracking point. What do you really think these two threads are? These appear to me to be a cry for help and you so called friends of hers continue to use her as your hammer. Thank God, I do not have friends like you. If you are her friend, you better find some help for her before it is too late. All this "I love you Stella, I love you Stella" is bull shit. Keep hanging her out to dry and you may get more than you really want. Stella is what she is and that is not vastly loved, not by you holier than thou authors.
You better believe that a nice Christian lady does not fan the waves of mental instability before their friends by supporting their fantasies that they are really leaders and well loved. You allow your friend to go without the help she is crying out for on this forum by adding to the myth that it's everybody else's fault. It is no LBL, Ami, and others you attack that is pushing Stella over the edge, it is you that refuse to use any objectivity with Stella.
I suggest you nut head intellects read some material in a basic psychology book of mental disorders and really help your friend. You are not ready to read the Bible yet, let alone Solomon's books of wisdom.
Stella's Out Of Meds, Too.
Do-over done.
Welcome to the AH, Wmrs.![]()
Don't you think that most people who have major differences with others, like atheist versus theist, think the other person is full of hatred, narrow mindedness, and bigotry because they simply disagree with their opinions?
You are obviously a very wise person. One statement you make, I really like but I would like to add to it.

Some of the ugliest disagreements I've had in the AH have been with people who turned out to be very dear to me. We didn't resolve the issues we'd been screaming about. But we learned to value each other anyway.
I still remember that. Sorry.![]()
Wow! That's so sad. Now, I feel bad. I didn't know she was out of meds. Well, that explains a lot. That explains why she's been such a bitch, er bastard, whatever.
An argument, isn't an argument if both sides maintain their dogma.
Yes it is.
No it isn't.
Of course it is.
It isn't, because I say so.
No you don't.
Yes I do.
What was the question?
Welcome to the mad-house.
No, that's down the hall. This is Being-Hit-On-The-Head lessons.
Who is in favor of having the fox be in charge of the chicken coop? Raise your hand!
You've cut through all the shit that has been spouting on this thread by "diva" and gotten to the point. That was wonderfully insightful, bsergi.
Wait, Besergi? You're not a terrorist are you? With a name like besergi, do you wear a towel on your head? You're not one of those towel head people are you? The last towel head tried to blow up with a sneaker bomb. What size sneakers do you wear?
How much bomb goo could I fit inside my size 5 stiletto, I mean sneaker? Oh, no, that's not bomb goo, its chicken poop. Yick! Its everywhere. Oh, but maybe that Dr. M can help me out. He was the chemistry pornfessor, right? I think chicken poop can be explosive. Maybe the fox could create a bomb. Whatdaya think?
Chiming in with the way we do things over at GLBT.
I am a strong believer in the "free speech" part of this board. I have seen other message boards where flames and disagreements get wiped away, and I don't like it. We are all adults here - you have to be 18 to join - and I think people should be responsible for themselves. If you don't like what somebody has to say, you can ignore them. The ignore button is not used nearly enough.
The GLBT section got started in May 2003 because I sent a message to Laurel and suggested it. She invited me to be a mod there, and I accepted. I tried to keep a tight lid on what was talked about, to keep the area clean of "fluff" threads, keep things on topic, etc. The backlash was swift: people did NOT want their conversations regulated. I backed off fast, and it's been smooth sailing ever since.
My role as a mod is to get rid of spam, move threads that belong elsewhere (major culprits are threads that belong in GLBT Personals and AmPics), delete e-mail addresses/phone numbers, and remove references to underage activities. I don't try to keep things on-topic, people take care of that pretty well themselves. I did have a "News & Issues" sub-forum created because people complained about not being able to find that type of thread in amongst the sex threads. (GLBT Chatter is a community, and people want to talk about more than just sex, but sex is quite dominant!)
As I mentioned, I am very supportive of the free speech aspect of Lit. The only exception I make, and this is mentioned in a sticky, is gay-bashing. It's very fuzzy, a "know it when I see it" kind of thing. Basically, personal attacks based on someone's presumed or admitted sexual orientation are not cool. We almost never get these. I can count on one hand the time it's happened in the nearly 6 years the board has been running. Other than that, I expect people to have a pretty thick skin, and I've never been let down. Yes, people yell at each other, and debate issues (we've got a hot one in a thread about Iowa right now), but everybody seems to know how to use the ignore button, because I've never had problems.
The report button is not used as often as it should be, either. I'm subscribed to GLBT Chatter so I get e-mail updates daily of new threads; that's how I keep tabs on spam and threads that belong elsewhere. I can't be everywhere though, and sometimes threads change from how they started. I wish people would report more. We do have a core group of members who are good friends with the button, and I do appreciate them immensely!
That's how things work over in GLBT...honestly people are pretty mature when it comes to using the board. I couldn't ask for an easier moderating job!
