How did this story get approved?

I won't post the story in its entirety here, but I've noticed over the last couple of days very negative comments about this story:

It deals with torture and humiliation of a man who is paralyzed from the neck down. What I want to know is how something like this gets approved? I don't normally post here as you can see, but I do read may of the threads and forums here. I've seen many authors complain of their stories being rejected because of too much violence or similar issues.

I warn you before you click the link, if you cannot tolerate cruelty and humiliation, do not read this story. The author has posted a comment on his own story that he thinks it's erotic. No one has agreed with him in the other 45 or so comments he's received.

Is it possible to request the story be removed from Literotica without the author's consent?

I whole-heartedly agree. What were the moderators thinking when they approved that story? Good God! I clicked on the "Report problems with this story" link and reported it as inappropriate, but I don't know what good that'll do.

I didn't look to see if they had other 'trash', though I noticed all the negative comments. One piece of theirs was enough to make me sick.

Oh yeah. I accidentally clicked on his (her?) user name when I was scrolling through the page too fast. I clicked the wheel on my mouse to stop the scrolling and hit dead-on the user name. UGH!

While the story is certainly in the wrong category ( Exhibitionist & Voyeur) and probably should have had a warning posted by the author as a special note, it should be remembered that LITEROTICA does have categories called NONCONSENT and BDSM.

With some 25,000 stories in them!

This story is in no way extreme compared to others that appear regularily here. And our publishing worlds best seller lists are peppered by Serial Killer tales that invariably entail all sorts of evil sadists.

It may not be your cup of tea (or mine) but ban it? I think not.

It's certainly in the wrong category. I'm rather surprised that it didn't run afoul of the rape fantasy vs. rapist fantasy prohibition.

Beyond that, though, with only a little bit of tweaking, I can see this as an erotic horror story. As much as I hate to agree with scouries under any conditions, I've seen worse. Hell, I've written worse. If you think this is bad, stay away from my horror tales, Ebon Genesis, and the first several chapters of Danica.

It's twisted, it's not my cup of tea, and it certainly isn't an E/V story, but I think calling to ban it may be a bit off base. Up to further review by the moderators whether it's over the line on the rape/rapist fantasy thing. If it was my call, I'd say it's over the line.

While I agree 100% that it's trash, if they took down everything that was offensive to someone or let's face it, just poorly written, 80% of the stories on the site would be gone.

That may be, but in my opinion, it went beyond what the NonCon category is, even though it wasn't posted there. Trying to kill a helpless man and enjoying it? Nothing funny there at all.

That's what my whole beef with the story was. I can understand there are readers who like the humiliation stories, but that one went far beyond that. The man being humiliated was completely paralyzed from the neck down and his wife and her lover nearly killed him. It was tasteless. I'm glad it was pulled.

I agree with you 100%. However, even if every last person on the planet disagrees with it and is disgusted by it--we still don't have a legitimate *right* to stop him/her from writing or saying it.

I think the best thing you can do is let it stand and let the audience say their piece if they so choose, and let them ignore it if that's also their choice.

If the material is such that would get legal attention focused on them (like the underage sex things), most writers to this site are quite happy that they draw the lines--as is their privilege as owners of the site.
