Unreal. ACORN Will Participate in Obama Census

so then ALL is well:D

So far as we know. If the story is true, there's no apparent reason why ACORN should not be involved "as a national partner with the U.S. Census Bureau in February 2009 to assist with the recruitment of the 1.4 million temporary workers needed to go door-to-door to count every person in the United States." Those temps will, after all, still will have to be vetted and hired by, and will be paid by and will report to, the Census Bureau, not ACORN.

If the story is true. It does not sound at all implausible, but skepticism is warranted solely because of the source. Here's another recent example of Fox's journalistic standards.

There's nothing in there about an expectation of being correct or fair either, so what do you think? Should we under, or over count the black folks, or the white folks, should we count illegal aliens too so as to misrepresent the number in a given congressional district?

Truth is the Census is governed under the U.S. Code Title 13, and under it's own governing regulations; but to your point I submit the following:

Title 13 Section 141 U.S.C

(c) The officers or public bodies having initial responsibility for the legislative apportionment or districting of each State may, not later than 3 years before the decennial census date, submit to the Secretary a plan identifying the geographic areas for which specific tabulations of population are desired. Each such plan shall be developed in accordance with criteria established by the Secretary, which he shall furnish to such officers or public bodies not later than April 1 of the fourth year preceding the decennial census date. Such criteria shall include requirements which assure that such plan shall be developed in a nonpartisan manner.

It's been political for 200 years though. Look at all the court cases about gerrymandering congressional districts. The Constitution just says to count people and assign representatives, then the states determine how to set up the districts.

The more things change, the more they stay the same

When Obama said he was going to change things people thought it would be for the better---most people didn't want think it could be a bad change

ACORN, the scandal-plagued organization with close ties to Barack Obama, will be assisting Obama and Democrats with the US census.

Well, Obama did promise this corrupt bunch that they would help shape his administration:

He wasn't kidding.

This radical group worked closely with the Obama campaign during the election although the community organizing group was not open about this. The photo below was scrubbed from the ACORN website before the election:

One of Barack Obama's first big "community organizer" jobs involved ACORN in 1992. Obama also trained ACORN employees. He represented ACORN in court. Obama worked with and protested with ACORN. His campaign donated $800,000 to ACORN this year for voter registration efforts.

And, ACORN even canvassed for Obama this year.

ACORN is the largest radical Leftist group in America today.

FOX News reported:

The U.S. Census is supposed to be free of politics, but one group with a history of voter fraud, ACORN, is participating in next year's count, raising concerns about the politicization of the decennial survey.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now signed on as a national partner with the U.S. Census Bureau in February 2009 to assist with the recruitment of the 1.4 million temporary workers needed to go door-to-door to count every person in the United States -- currently believed to be more than 306 million people.

A U.S. Census "sell sheet," an advertisement used to recruit national partners, says partnerships with groups like ACORN "play an important role in making the 2010 Census successful," including by "help[ing] recruit census workers."

The bureau is currently employing help from more than 250 national partners, including TARGET and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), to assist in the hiring effort.

But ACORN's partnership with the 2010 Census is worrisome to lawmakers who say past allegations of fraud should raise concerns about the organization.

"It's a concern, especially when you look at all the different charges of voter fraud. And it's not just the lawmakers' concern. It should be the concern of every citizen in the country," Rep. Lynn A. Westmoreland, R-Ga., vice ranking member of the subcommittee for the U.S. Census, told FOXNews.com. "We want an enumeration. We don't want to have any false numbers."

ACORN is a good choice.

After all, they speak Wetback.

As usual FauxNews plays fast and loose with the "facts". I'd like to see a single instance of proven voter fraud by ACORN.

What they're talking about is voter "registration" fraud, which was committed by people hired by ACORN to register voters. ACORN did as it was supposed to do by law and turned in even the registrations they believed to be fraudulent. The only real fraud that was committed was by the employees that forged registrations to make more money.

Leave it to FauxNews to perpetuate misinformation.

GOP mantra:

"Fannie, Freddie, ACORN, CRA!"

Repeat ad nauseum to misdirect from the truth.
