Chicago Litogether 2009

Just a quick note to say that I likely won't be around too much before Chicago, especially not in this thread.

I do get sort of shy now that the event draws closer, and though it sounds really odd, I know, I actually get uncomfortable with all the flirting, which is why I'm trying to stay away from it. It's just a personal choice (or oddity) on my part and has nothing whatsoever to do with the people on the thread.

I'm definitely looking forward to meeting everyone (again, for some) and I'll be checking my PMs and email regularly. :)

I will look forward to meeting you in Chicago Jen :)

*BUMP*

There is so much to do in Chicago.

One thing I'd suggest? No train rides when you're hung over.

But there is plenty of time to organize and plot terrific adventures.

:D

-nods- part of the reason for the coffee cafe...a good chance to find out what people are up to

Good evening/morning everyone!!

Been a long emotional day for me. Yes, another one!!!!

I so need the Litogether to get here!!!!!!!!

Pleaz, let me know if you are still planning on shopping on Friday. My schedule is still up in the air, but I would love to go to the mall with you!!!! :D

Hmmmm....I wonder what someone's work schedule is on Friday.

Did I say that out loud??:eek::eek:

*runs away and goes to bed*

Talk to y'all tomorrow. :rose::kiss::rose:

Lordy, I read this and forgot to reply. Forgive me?

Give me a call when you're on your way back in the morning.

We'll figure out something to do. ;)

I think I remember riding those trains in a similar state a number of years ago. It was safer than driving - but not by much.

Actually... the EL trains in and out of O'Hare have greatly improved... at least in the last couple times I've ridden. The tracks are overall pretty smooth... although it's still noisy as sin.

:( :( :( Already have other plans :( :( :(

Let's talk about next week. I know it will be mucho busy, but maybe I can help with whatever.

Talk to you soon!!!

The noise is as ugly as ugly can be. When I take a train into the city, I always use the Metra commuter trains, which are much more like traditional long-haul trains. They still smell of long years of use but at least they're quiet and relatively stable.

Do not use the bathroom on the Metra. You have to be a very brave soul to do that!

No worries. I think I'm pretty much on track now with everything I need to do. You can help me clean house! :D

It's been one heck of a week ... so I thought these were pretty fitting to kick off your free time sarahh!

Hey everyone, I would so much like to come out and meet everybody and party at least one night, but alas, I am way too shy to show up to such a thing alone, so I thought I would offer my services as a tour guide. I can help you navigate the trains and busses, help you get to the art institute or wherever (the Signature Room of the Hancock building is cool, get a drink, enjoy the view, way better than paying for the observation deck of the sears tower, imo). In exchange, I can come along with you to the party one night.

I'm not fussy about gender or age, and I'm open to any kind of tourist plans, pm me if you want to talk it over.

Andy, I'm sure people would love to have a guide, but there's no need to make it a form of payment. Just come hang with us! Seriously. We're all going to be nervous at first.
